This document summarizes Jeffrey Sagario's learning styles, pathway, and reflections on activities completed for an ITEC 299 multimedia learning course. According to learning style tests, Jeffrey is an active, sensing, and visual learner who prefers hands-on activities. Throughout the course, Jeffrey explored multimedia technologies like screencasts and podcasts. He found screencasts most useful as they allow self-paced learning. While multimedia will continue growing in importance, Jeffrey feels screencasts and podcasts are best suited to educational rather than professional contexts.

Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.

2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

2. Learning Styles Results
Active Learner – 7
Learn by trying things out and working with
others.
Sensing Learner – 7
Concrete, practical and oriented towards facts
and procedures.
Visual Learner – 5
Prefer visual representation of presented
materials; pictures, diagrams, charts
Global Learner – 5
Holistic, system thinkers, learn in large leaps.
3. Learning Pathway
I am a Learning Warrior.
My primary goal is personal growth.
I would like deeper investigation on few
technologies.
I would like to apply what I've learned in this
class in other classes I am taking.
Grew up in the technology era.
My learning pathway at the end of this class has
changed to Learning Sage because I want to
learn more about Multimedia technologies.
4. Activities that contributed to my
Learning Warrior pathway
Screencast Quest
Allows you to move at your own pace.
Allows you to stop and rewind certain clips
that you need to hear more than once.
Throughout every quest screencasts were
used and very helpful for those who are more
auditory than visual.
5. Multimedia Technology #1
Multimedia Quest
Pictures, videos, graphs, animation, audio, etc
.
Able to visually learn a subject better.
Able to have it in the palm of your hands at all
times. (phones, ipods, tablets)
Multimedia is everywhere and will continue to
develop throughout the years as a main
source for technology.
6. Multimedia Technology #2
Screencast Technology Quest
Able to learn at your own pace.
Able to stop, rewind and play material if a
student misses a concept.
Able to read the screencast as well as hear
someone read it to you for those who have
more of an auditory preference.
7. Multimedia Technology #3
Podcast Technology Quest
Very easy to produce a podcast with a
microphone and a web camera.
Easy to look up different podcasts about
different subjects.
Anyone can create a podcast.
Sensory preference isn't favorable with
podcast because it is not hardcore evidence
being produced, rather anyone who is
recording material they think is important.
8. Multimedia Technologies
Most interesting was the multimedia quest
because multimedia is everywhere and in our
lives everyday.
Found that podcasts were not as useful to my
learning preferences because it is not concrete
detail being recorded by a person.
I would like to explore more about screencasts
because working at your own pace comes very
handy when you can't take notes fast enough in
a classroom setting.
9. In the future...
I will continue to use multimedia technologies
because they will continue to grow as
mainstream technologies as the years go by.
I wouldn't use screencasts or podcasts outside
of a learning environment because they aren't
used in my fields very much.
Using multimedia technology for non-learning
would be easy if it involves
phones, computers, etc. but using screencasts
or podcasts I wouldn't use other than for
learning.
