1. Introduction
 The Multilateral e-AWB Agreement provides a single standard
agreement that freight forwarders can sign once with IATA and start
doing e-AWB with all airline participants to the Agreement.
 A new paperless process using e-signatures is now available for
freight forwarders to join the Multilateral e-AWB Agreement and to
update the company information.
 The new process is legally binding, secure, efficient and
environment friendly - removing the need to print, sign and mail
paper documents.

2. How to join?
Join in four easy-steps:
1. Review the standard Multilateral e-AWB Agreement
2. Complete and submit the Online Joining Form
3. Receive your Agreement by e-mail from IATA Cargo
4. e-sign the Agreement
Next steps: IATA will counter-sign the Agreement and you will receive the final signed PDF by e-mail.
Your company will be listed as party to the IATA Multilateral e-AWB Agreement and you will receive a
joining confirmation message from IATA advising effective date and next steps.

information at any time.
1. Download and complete the appropriate Form:

2. E-mail the completed Form to IATA Cargo at cargo@iata.org

5. Frequently Asked Questions
1.Can the paperless process be used in countries where e-signatures are
not recognized?
The governing law for the Multilateral e-AWB Agreement is Swiss Law
(which provides same legal validity for e-signatures as for hand written
signatures).Therefore, regardless of the location of the Freight Forwarder,
the Agreement can be executed using e-signature.
2. Is the paper process still available?
Parties have the option to use the paper process. However, IATA
recommends to use the new paperless process to avoid having to print,
sign and mail paper documents and to enable a more quicker and efficient
processing of the submission.
