This document discusses Torchbox's implementation of a multi-client Kanban system. Torchbox is a web agency that provides digital services like websites, marketing, and applications using Drupal. Data is key to determining both the challenges our fundraising teams are facing and the accomplishments they've made. As technology changes, accessibility to data requires new tools especially when it involves data stored in private vendor clouds - a practice that is becoming more and more common. Children’s Minnesota Foundation has been on a data journey that started with a focus on acquiring data, loading a data warehouse, and building the mechanisms to view and interact with the data. To move from concept to reality, in 2021, the foundation team partnered with The Zuri Group in the development of Aqueduct. Aqueduct has become the foundation’s go-to, turn-key, data aggregation solution to assimilate data from Blackbaud’s private cloud as well as other in-house systems. All this comes together in an Aqueduct delivered dimensional data warehouse allowing foundation staff to efficiently use enterprise reporting tools (Power BI and Reporting Services) to drive important and impactful data-driven decisions.

In 2018, David Lecours published research on best practices of ENR 20 and 20 progressive firm websites. Merging these two studies, David shares data, and what we can learn about the effectiveness of top A/E/C websites. You’ll learn the latest tactics that firms are using to attract and convert great clients and talent.
Microservices are a well-established architecture applied by many organizations around the world to build scalable and fault-tolerant backend systems. But as these systems grow so does the number of services in them. And this brings many challenges when we want to introduce new functionality. For a simple feature, engineers may need to spend a lot of time designing the end to end flow, changing code in multiple services and setting up complex test scenarios. During this talk, we’ll explore how to evolve a microservice architecture to be easily extensible based on some lessons learned from running 5000 microservices in production. We’ll go over different architectural patterns and open source tools that we can use to make it easy for all engineers to understand, extend and be more and more productive in such big complex systems.
