This document summarizes a study comparing how security bugs, performance bugs, and other bugs are handled in the Firefox browser. The study found that: 1) Security bugs are triaged and fixed faster than other types of bugs. 2) Security bug fixes are performed by more experienced developers and tend to be more complex, involving changes to more files. 3) Security bugs are tossed (reassigned) and reopened more often during the fixing process than other bugs.
