1. Chose an organization of your choice from the manufacturing sector. Perform a SWOT analysis
on the organization. Based on the SWOT analysis performed, list out the challenges the
organization is facing, which can be converted into opportunities.
Answer: The SWOT analysis is a valuable step in your situational analysis. Assessing your firm’s
strengths,weaknesses,marketopportunities, and threats through a SWOT analysis is a very simple
process that can offer powerful insight into the potential and critical issues affecting a venture.
The SWOT analysisbeginsbyconductinganinventory of internal strengths and weaknesses in your
organization. You will then note the external opportunities and threats that may affect the
organization, based on your market and the overall environment. Don’t be concerned about
elaborating on these topics at this stage; bullet points may be the best way to begin. Capture the

2. How does Focus strategy create competitive advantage for an organization? Illustrate your
answer with the help of an example.
Answer: Focus is a strategy that enables a company to dominate a niche. Through a focus strategy,
your company concentrates on a limited part of a market. Companies that succeed with a focus
strategyunderstandthe dynamics and unique customer needs of their market niche. As a result of
developing and promoting “niche” products and services, you can attract a higher share of
customers in that market segment than competitors. Plus, you can earn above average profits and
reduce the threat of competitors entering the niche.

3. List and explainvarious strategic issues arising when an organization follows diversification as a
part of its growth strategy.
Answer:Diversificationstrategiesare usedtoexpandfirms'operationsbyaddingmarkets,products,
services,orstagesof production to the existing business. The purpose of diversification is to allow
the company to enter lines of business that are different from current operations. When the new
venture isstrategicallyrelatedtothe existinglinesof business,itis called concentric diversification.
Conglomerate diversificationoccurswhenthere isnocommon thread of strategic fit or relationship
between the new and old lines of business; the new and old businesses are unrelated.
Diversification is a form of growth strategy. Growth strategies involve a significant increase in
performance objectives (usually sales or market share)
4. Describe different leadership styles of Top Management with the help of real world examples.
Answer: Let's take a look at seven different leadership styles - namely charismatic, participative,
situational, transactional, transformational, servant and quiet leadership - and examples of each
one.

Answer: Focus is a strategy that enables a company to dominate a niche. Through a focus strategy, your company concentrates on a limited part of a market. Companies that succeed with a focus strategyunderstandthe dynamics and unique customer needs of their market niche. As a result of developing and promoting “niche” products and services, you can attract a higher share of customers in that market segment than competitors. Plus, you can earn above average profits and reduce the threat of competitors entering the niche. Focus is the easiest and least costly of the three 3.
