The intro scene shows a woman running through a snowy forest as she is chased by an unknown creature. As she tries to escape, she injures herself and is captured and killed by the creature. Low-key lighting and camerawork create tension and mystery around what is chasing her. The film title is then shown, concluding the intro.

Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.

Synthetic Fiber Construction in lab .pptxPavel ( NSTU)
Synthetic fiber production is a fascinating and complex field that blends chemistry, engineering, and environmental science. By understanding these aspects, students can gain a comprehensive view of synthetic fiber production, its impact on society and the environment, and the potential for future innovations. Synthetic fibers play a crucial role in modern society, impacting various aspects of daily life, industry, and the environment. ynthetic fibers are integral to modern life, offering a range of benefits from cost-effectiveness and versatility to innovative applications and performance characteristics. While they pose environmental challenges, ongoing research and development aim to create more sustainable and eco-friendly alternatives. Understanding the importance of synthetic fibers helps in appreciating their role in the economy, industry, and daily life, while also emphasizing the need for sustainable practices and innovation.
Acetabularia Information For Class 9 .docxvaibhavrinwa19
Acetabularia acetabulum is a single-celled green alga that in its vegetative state is morphologically differentiated into a basal rhizoid and an axially elongated stalk, which bears whorls of branching hairs. The single diploid nucleus resides in the rhizoid.
2.
It starts with a shot of some snowy mountains as the camera tilts downwards.
The scene then cuts to a shot of people hastily making their way through a
dead looking forest.
This is happening to the sound of Hall of the Mountain King.
The scene slows (and music pauses) as the woman stops and is shortly startled
by some sort of humanoid creature.
The chase continues as the song begins playing again.
The woman then injures herself in an attempt to escape and is captured and
devoured by the creature.
This is then followed by the title of the movie and the introduction comes to an
end.
Brief Description
of the intro scene
3. Brief Description
of the Movie
Dead Snow is a Zombie Horror Movie with Dark/Black comedy.
The Movie works against most stereotypes of your typical zombie or
infected.
The Movie it’s self was made in Norway and is also in Norwegian.
(With subtitles available for other languages, no English dubbing.)
4. Camera
The camera starts looking at the sky and begins to tilt downwards towards the
ground. As the camera tilts downwards the viewer would be able to see a
mountainous region. This allows the viewer to get an idea of where the movie
is set.
The camera also has a focus on some lifeless looking trees to further imply
(along with the low-key lighting) that this is a scary place.
A lot of the chase shots are not actually tracking shots.
Most of the shots used in the chasing sequence are shots of trees that the actor
runs into the shot of, this is followed by the camera panning to keep the actor
in frame.
This gives the keep that the character is being stalked by some form of hunter
but not quite yet being chased by the hunter. It feels as if we are waiting to
strike and attack the character when she lets her guard down.
5. Camera
(Continued)
The pace of the scene slows and the camera shot becomes close-ups of the
character and POV shots from the characters perspective.
Near the end of the sequence the camera becomes very shaky and extremely
dramatic as the woman is being chased.
This makes things harder to make out resulting in the viewer wanting to get a
proper look at what is chasing the woman.
The close up shot of the woman in pain does a great job of showing the pain
she is in.
The use of the hand-held camera shot show that this movie is a horror.
The hand-held does a good job of showing the viewer as little of the creature
chasing the woman as possible.
6. Editing
For the most part the editing is fairly good but often does stuff that I
personally would bring into question.
When the woman is injured the camera cuts straight to her part way
through crawling to safety.
This bugs me quiet a lot as it left me thinking it was a shot of another
person the first time watching.
7. Music
The music used is a classical piece by Edvard Grieg known as Hall of
the Mountain King.
The music used is kind of a miss match. Although the song builds up its
pace to both build suspense and to match the running in the scene, but
the music is quite bouncy and light hearted compared to the dark
horrible scene that it is overlaying.
But the use of music best describes the genre that the movie is trying to
set, which is a comedy/horror hybrid.
8. Sound
In terms of diegetic sound, there is hardly any to further emphasis on
the sinister scene, as the lack of diegetic sound adds more to the scene
than having diegetic sound.
That’s not to say there is no diegetic sound.
There is the sound of the woman running through the snow and
scraping through the trees along with the added sound of the branches
cracking and breaking.
9.
The costumes are hard to see due to the low-key lighting.
But you can make out that the woman being chased is wearing winter clothing,
big coat, hat, gloves, etc… Clothing one would expect to be wearing in the
weather conditions given.
For the brief moment that you see the Nazi zombie close-up, you could make
out the helmet its wearing but not much else.
The costumes used aren’t anything unusual for what the movie is actually
about, so snow gear for the people in the cold, SS uniform for the Nazi
zombies.
During the running shot of the zombies, you maybe able to make out the SS
uniform a bit better.
Costume
10. Lights
The opening entirely consists of low-key lighting.
This is to further emphasise that this is meant to be somewhat scary.
The low-key lighting does a great job of hiding most details within the
opening.
I feel this is done to anonymity to the scene as the viewer cannot make
out many of the details. This is also assisted by the amount of cuts in the
scene.
The anonymity created by the low-key lighting, would add to the fear
factor of the scene as people dislike the dark and fear the unknown.
11.
During this scene there is only one actor that you can really focus on and that
the scene itself focuses on.
When the woman stops for a moment, you can see that she is on the look out
for something.
During this moment I would have thought that she would be looking more
frightened.
The actress can be seen breathing heavily and is also heard panting as a
result of her running.
Actors
(Expression/Gestures)
12. Actors
(Continued)
The actress does a good job of showing the pain that she is in, as a result
of the injury she sustained to her arm.
The facial expression and the screams make the pain seem very
convincing.
After being injured the woman quickly crawls to safety using the arm
that she had just injured, completely unphased by the injury she had
just sustained in that particular shot.
13. Make-up
Most of the make-up is hard to see, once again due to the lighting shrouding
the details.
The viewer may be able to make out the wounds that the woman has on her
face.
The fact that we are not told or shown how she got those scratches brings into
question how she got them (e.g. was it from the zombies?)
Once again not much can be said in regards to the zombie make-up due to
their short time on screen.
But if the viewer was to look carefully they would be able to make out that
they are decaying humans or zombies, especially during the chaseing cut when
the zombies are running after the female.
14. Enigma
All the previous factors put together add a large amount of enigma.
If the viewer didn’t notice anything to do with the movie, then they may
not know what is chasing the woman or why.
The lighting does a great job of hiding the scene from the viewer,
making it hard for the viewer to get a proper idea of what is going on.
The opening of the movie shows the viewer a woman running but
doesn’t give any information about the woman, which also make the
viewers who is she and why are the zombies chasing her.
You may also question, why is she by her self.
15. Conventions
of Film Openings
The opening goes against conventions of movie openings by focusing
on a non-key character.
This is goes further against the conventions by killing this woman off at
the end of the opening.
The movie follows the convention of showing the movie title at some
point during the opening. (in this case, at the end of the opening)
