The Moodle gradebook allows students to review their progress and see areas to improve, and teachers to organize grades, see trends, and review past grades and comments for a student. However, it will not automatically mark work, make students more organized, replace a paper gradebook, or improve exam results. When using the gradebook, teachers should have a clear strategy for how it fits with their assessment policy and differentiation practices, and determine an organizational category system for grades.
