Mountain Monardella is a perennial sub-shrub native to central and northern California mountains. It grows 1-3 feet tall and wide, with gray-green to medium green mounded stems bearing paired, highly aromatic leaves. In late spring to summer, it produces ball-like whorls of pale pink or lavender flowers at the top of stems. Mountain Monardella prefers partial shade and well-drained soil, and is drought tolerant once established. It is well suited for butterfly gardens, scented gardens, containers, and as a border due to its attractive flowers and minty fragrance.
