This study analyzed genetic and cytogenetic data from Hoplias malabaricus populations in eastern Brazil to better understand the phylogeography and systematics of this species. Molecular and karyotypic analyses were conducted on samples from 12 river basins. Seven distinct karyomorphs were identified based on diploid chromosome number. Both the genetic and cytogenetic data supported a long independent evolutionary history for each karyomorph. The results also indicated a coastal origin for continental populations in southeastern Brazil. Overall, the concordance between the molecular and cytogenetic patterns provided evidence that at least some of the karyomorphs should be considered valid species within the H. malabaricus species complex.

The ecomorphology of 14 fish species resident in a headwater riffles area of the São Francisco river, southeastern Brasil, was
analyzed and combined with diet and feeding behavior data, previously obtained by us. The three larger species groups
formed in the ecomorphological analysis were found to reflect primarily microhabitat occupation in the following manner: a)
nektonic characids with compressed bodies, lateral eyes and lateral pectoral fins, with diurnal and opportunistic feeding habits
(Astyanax rivularis, Bryconamericus stramineus, and Bryconamericus sp.); b) nektobenthic characiforms and siluriforms
with fusiform bodies and expanded pectoral fins, including sit-and-wait characidiins, predators of aquatic insect larvae
(Characidium fasciatum and Ch. zebra), as well as the algae grazing parodontids (Apareiodon ibitiensis and Parodon
hilarii), and also the heptapterid and trichomycterid catfishes that practice substrate speculation and feed on benthic aquatic
insect larvae (Cetopsorhamdia iheringi, Imparfinis minutus, Rhamdia quelen, and Trichomycterus sp.); c) benthic species
with depressed bodies, suctorial oral discs, dorsal eyes, and horizontal pectoral fins, represented by the periphytivorous
loricariid catfishes (Hisonotus sp., Harttia sp., and Hypostomus garmani).
Study of Zooplankton Abundance and Species Diversity in Shahjangi Pond of Bha...ijtsrd
The present study was conducted in Shahjangi Pond of Bhagalpur District of Bihar during April 2021 to March 2022. Zooplanktonic abundance and diversity were determined by using standard method. The principal aim of this study was to study more about the swamps overall zooplankton diversity. Water samples were collected using zooplankton net and preserved with formalin aqueous solution of formaldehyde and 5 neutral buffer 10 ml on the spot, then brought to the laboratory for further analysis. Totally 21 species of zooplankton of four different classes were recorded rotifer, cladocera, copepod and ostracoda in which Rotifera was the most dominant class followed by the cladocera, copepoda and ostracoda. From total 21 genera 10 were belongs to Rotifera, 6 from cladocera, 3 from copepoda and 2 from ostracoda. Shannon Weaver index were employed to analysis the species diversity. Abrachium, a new genus in the Clathraceae, and Itajahya reassessedRhudson Cruz
Molecular and morphological analyses have elucidated phylogenetic relationships of two remarkable species in the Phallales: Aseroe floriformis and Phallus roseus. Genes from ATPase subunit 6 (atp6), the nuclear large subunit ribossomal DNA (nuc-LSU), and the second largest RNA polymerase II subunit (RPB2) underwent Bayesian and parsimony molecular analyses. Molecular datasets combined with morphological characters, support a new genus (Abrachium for Aseroe floriformis), reassessment Itajahya, and emendation of Clathraceae.
Emerging Diversity Within Well-known Heterotrophic Flagellates Groups Reveal...Javier del Campo
During the last ten years, an overwhelming amount of data has been generated from culturing independent techniques to study the diversity of marine protists. These studies show a large diversity and the existence of new groups, such as for MAST (Marine Stramenopiles) or MALV (Marine Alveolates). However, a large part of these sequences has not been analysed together, and constitutes a potentially important source of information related with protists diversity and distribution. Using sequences from our studies and from GenBank and CAMERA, we have been able to define several novel clades in three important marine representative groups such are Choanoflagellates, Chrysophytes and Bicosecids. Most of the novel clades correspond to uncultured organisms. Analyzing all sequences together permits to observe this diversity, which was already presented by generally ignored. Only an important data mining work developed using GenBank allows this novel diversity hidden inside well know groups to emerge from the enormous sea of data generated.

"Impact of front-end architecture on development cost", Viktor TurskyiFwdays
I have heard many times that architecture is not important for the front-end. Also, many times I have seen how developers implement features on the front-end just following the standard rules for a framework and think that this is enough to successfully launch the project, and then the project fails. How to prevent this and what approach to choose? I have launched dozens of complex projects and during the talk we will analyze which approaches have worked for me and which have not.

Search and Society: Reimagining Information Access for Radical FuturesBhaskar Mitra
The field of Information retrieval (IR) is currently undergoing a transformative shift, at least partly due to the emerging applications of generative AI to information access. In this talk, we will deliberate on the sociotechnical implications of generative AI for information access. We will argue that there is both a critical necessity and an exciting opportunity for the IR community to re-center our research agendas on societal needs while dismantling the artificial separation between the work on fairness, accountability, transparency, and ethics in IR and the rest of IR research. Instead of adopting a reactionary strategy of trying to mitigate potential social harms from emerging technologies, the community should aim to proactively set the research agenda for the kinds of systems we should build inspired by diverse explicitly stated sociotechnical imaginaries. The sociotechnical imaginaries that underpin the design and development of information access technologies needs to be explicitly articulated, and we need to develop theories of change in context of these diverse perspectives. Our guiding future imaginaries must be informed by other academic fields, such as democratic theory and critical theory, and should be co-developed with social science scholars, legal scholars, civil rights and social justice activists, and artists, among others.

Kubernetes & AI - Beauty and the Beast !?! @KCD Istanbul 2024Tobias Schneck
As AI technology is pushing into IT I was wondering myself, as an “infrastructure container kubernetes guy”, how get this fancy AI technology get managed from an infrastructure operational view? Is it possible to apply our lovely cloud native principals as well? What benefit’s both technologies could bring to each other?
Let me take this questions and provide you a short journey through existing deployment models and use cases for AI software. On practical examples, we discuss what cloud/on-premise strategy we may need for applying it to our own infrastructure to get it to work from an enterprise perspective. I want to give an overview about infrastructure requirements and technologies, what could be beneficial or limiting your AI use cases in an enterprise environment. An interactive Demo will give you some insides, what approaches I got already working for real.
