Moldova's open data program achieved significant milestones by launching a national open data portal and integrating open data into e-transformation initiatives, leading to over 20,000 downloads and compliance from 18 agencies. The program was supported by the World Bank, starting from a governance transformation vision proposed by the Prime Minister in 2011, and included the release of a public expenditures database. The initiative has fostered citizen engagement and innovation through co-creation events and the development of applications such as alerte.md for people with disabilities.
