MODE were engaged from initial feasibility and health planning studies, to introduce mental health
services to this existing medical/surgical facility. MODE provided initial conversion of an existing
ward to include a 12 in-patient beds and associated facilities. This was so successful that MODE were
engaged to design an additional custom extension of 16 beds and ancillary facilities contiguous with
the existing unit. The extension was delivered by design and construct and included the new ward
and internal upgrades to existing areas.

Client: Philips Healthcare
MODE worked with Philips Healthcare to coordinate renovations and the instalment of a new hybrid
operating theatre machine into an existing theatre at the Royal Darwin Hospital (RDH). These works
have been carried out in close consultation with key RDH user groups and is being constructed
within the 'live' theatre environment. The design and construction processes focused on maintaining
functions in and around the affected areas, with special emphasis on infection control measures to
ensure adjoining areas were able to safely and clinically function throughout the build.

This project consisted of the conversion of conjoined vacant commercial and warehouse buildings
on a high profile corner site on the Gold Coast Highway. MODE were engaged to assess the initial
viability of the project and to provide architecture, interiors, graphics and landscape design services
through to completion and commission of the facility.

This project was to provide a master plan for a new private hospital, collocated on the Public
Hospital campus. The new facility is designed with flexibility in mind and future proofed for further

Client: All India Institutes of Medical Sciences
MODE, in association with joint venture partner DDF Consultants, were shortlisted for the master
planning of the new All India Institute of Medical Science campus at Jhajjar. The project consisted
of 4500 public hospital beds and associated facilities and 5000 plus, accommodation units on a
greenfield site approximately 40 kilometres from the existing AIIMS campus in New Delhi. Planned
public institutions for the site included a General Hospital (500 beds), National Cancer Institute
(600 beds), National Cardiovascular Centre (800 beds), National Centre for Child Health
(500 beds), etc. that is connected by a hierarchical internal road.

Innovation Capitalisation™ by MODE is a pivotal tool developed to consider a project from the outset before any design has occurred. It aligns
specialist providers, groups, businesses and government with the sole purpose of creating better communities through unique and innovative design.
The four key pillars (social, economic, environmental and educative) act as the drivers for Innovation Capitalisation and is how MODE unlock the
‘Capital in Reserve’ on each project. MODE views Innovation Capitalisation as a new procurement method, an opportunity to align community needs
