This trend deck identifies the major social,
economic, environmental, and technological
trends that will affect the transport sector
over the next 30 years. It is ideal for
transport planners and strategists seeking to
create the policies of the future.
Each card summarises the trend, its likely
impact on transport, its impact timescale,
and how it will impact on other trends in the
deck. It also contains a handy ‘evidence on a
side’, including references.
This trend deck is based upon 5 years of
research and analysis undertaken for clients
such as theTransport Systems Catapult, the
UK Ministry of Defence, and the European
Commission.

Each player is given a role in the game, that
they must play to its conclusion. They can
compete with each other, collaborate, do

role they play is heard.
The intent of the game is to create better
strategy through experiencing the future
from a variety of perspectives. By doing so,
future plans can be iterated and changed.
