MLEARN is an international project that aims to integrate the use of handheld mobile technologies as a recognized learning tool in schools. The project will provide training to teachers on how to use mobile devices confidently and effectively in the classroom to transform teaching and learning across all subject areas. Teachers will be challenged to think creatively about mobile learning and develop their skills in using new technologies and ideas within the school curriculum. The objectives of the MLEARN project are to embed mobile technologies within teacher training programs, pilot the training with teachers in various schools, and enable teachers to use their new skills and competencies through school-based projects and activities.

TheMLearnProgramme: Atrainingneedsanalysiswillestablishneedandguideproject development. •Trainingwillinitiallybeprovidedfor5expertteachers (1from eachcountry)whohaveknowledgeand experienceofusingICT intheclassroom. •Equipmentwillbeprovidedforeachpartnercountry,tobe•Equipmentwillbeprovided foreachpartnercountry,tobe sharedwiththeteachersandschoolsinthepilotproject. •Theexpertteacherswillrecruitaminimum of10 teachersin eachcountrytobetrained,from primary,secondaryandspecial schoolsandinatleast5differentsubjects. •Followingthecascadingoftraining,allteacherswillproducea casestudyintheirownlanguageandinEnglish. •Handheldtechnologieswillbeusedinupto10differentschools•Handheldtechnologieswillbeusedinupto10differentschools reachinginitiallyatleast150pupilsineachcountry. •Eachpartnerwill ensurethattheresultsoftheprojectare sharedintheirowncountrywithatleast100teachers. •Researchandevaluationwillform avitalpartofthe project,to ensurethatthepilotiscost-effectiveanddeliversqualityresults.
