This document outlines a lesson plan for a 1st grade science class where students will learn about animal colors and shapes. The lesson involves students discussing their favorite animals and the colors of those animals. They will then receive printed animal images and discuss animal shapes. Students will draw and create pictures of animals using different colors and shapes, as well as drawing the animals' habitats. about the student’s favorite animals.
 Ask
them “What colors are the animals?”
 Ask
them “What shapes are the animals?”

3.  Handout

 Allow
students to draw pictures of their
favorite animal using different colors and
shapes.

4.  After
students draw their favorite animal,
allow them to draw a picture of the animals’
habitat.
 Then
allow students to create a new picture
of their animal by using cut out paper
shapes.

students made their animals out of the
correct shapes, allow them to glue their
animal onto their habitat drawing.

Instruction-Procedures:
Talk about the students' favorite animals. What colors are each of the animals?



Handout printed images of animals. Talk about the different colors and shapes of these
animals. Allow the students to create their own pictures of their favorite animal using
colors and shapes.







After drawing their favorite animals, allow students to draw a picture of the animal’s
habitat. Then the students will make a new picture of their favorite animal with paper
shapes.
If students made their animals out of the correct shapes, allow them to glue their
animal onto their habitat drawing.
