Antioxidant or chemical

PRESERVATIVE:
 Benzoic acid (0.1%w/v)

COLOURING AGENT:
 No need of colouring agent (maximum
they are coloured)

 Syrup or glycerol (sweetning agent for
childrens preparation).
 Liquorice liquid extract (to mark the saline
taste of ammonium salt & alkali iodide in cough
mixture).
 Lemon sprit (to cover the taste of alkaline
citrates).
 Orange syrup
