The PERME® MGT-01 Mixed Gas Permeability Analyzer uses differential pressure and chromatography methods to quantitatively and qualitatively analyze the gas permeability of mixed gas components. It can test permeability at various temperatures and pressures and features an embedded computer control system, intelligent software, and support for a lab data sharing system. The instrument determines the overall and individual gas permeances and transmission rates of films for applications like packaging and construction materials.

Test Principle
The pre-conditioned specimen is mounted in the gas diffusion cell as to form a sealed barrier between two

2. chambers. The lower-pressure chamber is firstly evacuated, followed by the evacuation of the entire cell. A flow
of mixed gas is thereafter introduced into the evacuated higher-pressure chamber and a constant pressure
difference is generated between the two chambers. The gas permeates through the specimen from higher pressure
side into the lower side and is further detected by gas chromatograph. The permeance of sole gas or mixed gas as
well as the corresponding transmission rate can be obtained by the application of chromatography analysis
technology.
