 Introduction & History to
  Telecommunication
 Rule of Telecommunication in Education at
  international level
 Benefits of using Telecommunication
 Telecommunication is the exchange of
  information over significant distance by
  electronic means.
 The simplest form of telecommunication
takes place between two stations such as
 Receiver
 Transmitter
 Smoke Signals
 Drums
 Flags
 Semaphore
 Telephone
 Wireless
 Television
 Radio
 Computer
 Internet
 Alexander Graham Bell
 Guglielmo Marconi
 John Logie Baird
 If we have a look on the early forms of distance then we
found that distance education had its beginning in the
mid 1800s and then it took the form of
 Correspondence
 Postal system to facilitate the exchange of information
 Then in 1920s the birth of the telecommunication
industry provided the element that would most
dramatically alter Distance learning to real time
communications. First in 1920s came the capability
of voice transmission and audio conferencing .Then
video transmission allowed students to observe the
classroom activities. Then emphasis is only on Radio
    and Television till 1970s.

 By 1970s the world had begun to focus on the
power of computer and then distance learning
entered the virtual age. Now the internet has
revolutionized the practice of providing class and
    degree programs to offsite students.
 Dial Access
 Educational Television
 Videos
 Teleconferencing
 Computer
 Internet
 Dial access belongs to audio technology which uses
educational telephone network (ETN).Dial access is a
round clock delivery system through which caller obtains
access to a vast library of audio cassettes. In 1970s Dial
access allowed individual access to audio/video –tapes
at remote station through a wired system was popular in
    University of Wisconsin in USA.
 Television being a versatile communication
medium is being used increasingly in the second
half of the 20th century by developed as well as
underdeveloped countries of the world to meet
the growing demands of education. For the sake
of it television telecast the educational programs
 which were carefully designed and
produced, those programs proved effective in
 education.
 We can also take help from videos to educate
  the learners. Video especially non-broadcast
video is one of the most successful medium
used extensively in education and training.
 It is more popular than lectures
 Special programs such as teaching
skills, demonstrating and illustrating ideas are
developed for video tape and used at all levels of
  education.
 Teleconferencing is a whole new form of video-
based communication via phone lines or satellite
  broadcast.
 With teleconferencing widely separated people
can conduct a meeting by typing message at
  their terminals.
 Message may be directed at any subject of the
attendees .Attendees may leave at will and find
out what they missed when they come back. If
they get bored they may shut off at the push of a
  button.
 It is not also necessary for all the attendees to be
present at the same time and attendance may be
  anonymous.
 It is able to deliver a message from one
coast to another in a few seconds
 It is very fast
 It has the speed of the telephone without
requiring that both parties be available at
  the same instant
 A message can be send many people at
  once
 They are portable
 They provide immediate feedback to the
  learner’ s input
 They are personal
 They provide spontaneous access on an
individualized basis to meet the needs of a
  diverse population
 They allow individual to work in a risk- free
  environment avoiding embarrassment
 Internet is a great invention in the world of computer
 It changed the whole world into a small town we can
do communicate via internet though we are at far away
  places
 It play a vital rule in education
 We can attempt many online classes and adopt many
courses according to our requirements' some of them
are free of cost but some have its cost
 Through internet we can get knowledge even from
  other corner of the world
 We can conduct many www sites to get information
  according to our will
 Tele –learning can be offered students
  valuable education opportunities which
would not otherwise be available to them
 Students can increase their confident
 It help students to organize their thoughts
 Communication and information exchange
  with electric mail
 Students can motivated to writing through
  telecommunication
