This document summarizes and analyzes a scene from a film set in a hospital where the main character, Sarah, awakens from a car crash. The scene uses lighting, location, costumes, props, and sound to create different atmospheres and illustrate Sarah's mental state. When Sarah first enters the dark, green-lit corridor it seems scary and grim, suggesting she feels haunted by death. But when more people and bright lights are added the atmosphere lightens to feel safer and calmer. Sarah's white hospital gown stands out in the darkness, showing her vulnerability. A heartbeat monitor and the appearance of her deceased daughter's birthday cake are important props that impact the audience.

We all have good and bad thoughts from time to time and situation to situation. We are bombarded daily with spiraling thoughts(both negative and positive) creating all-consuming feel , making us difficult to manage with associated suffering. Good thoughts are like our Mob Signal (Positive thought) amidst noise(negative thought) in the atmosphere. Negative thoughts like noise outweigh positive thoughts. These thoughts often create unwanted confusion, trouble, stress and frustration in our mind as well as chaos in our physical world. Negative thoughts are also known as “distorted thinking”.
Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.

The map views are useful for providing a geographical representation of data. They allow users to visualize and analyze the data in a more intuitive manner.
The French Revolution, which began in 1789, was a period of radical social and political upheaval in France. It marked the decline of absolute monarchies, the rise of secular and democratic republics, and the eventual rise of Napoleon Bonaparte. This revolutionary period is crucial in understanding the transition from feudalism to modernity in Europe.

2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

2. Clip 3 – Hospital
This scene shows that the
girl/Jessica and the cake is light
up and the background is pitch
black this shows that this is
probably an imaginary image or
even a dream.
This image is kind of like the last
one the image is focused on
Sarah. The surroundings are
also black to keep the emphasis
of darkness and even keeps it
like a dream. The green give the
scene a cold, uninviting and a
grime effect.
With the green lighting the
hospital seems uninviting and
grime even the shadows give off
a spooky horror kind of vibe. This
looks like a completely different
scene has been created.
This scene shows the sudden
change in lighting and shows
you how easy it is to suddenly
change the atmosphere of the
corridor. As it lights up and
there is no longer any
shadows and the corridors
are now crowded. The
atmosphere suddenly
changes from a scary, grime
horror scene to a sad,
depressing and bright scene.
Lighting
3. Location
This scene is set in a hospital where Sarah awakes from the car crash. When she
enters the corridor it is dark, green there are also loads of shadows this suggest
that she has only just escaped death and her brain his making her imagine that
she is being hunted by death. This gives you the illusion that she is dead or still
asleep. In this seen she also bumps in to Beth in the same corridor you can see
that the scene suddenly changes as the lighting and the amount of props an
people increase hugely. This makes her feel more safe as the atmosphere
changes and the bright lights make it more calm and peaceful.
4. Costume
In the scene you can see that Sarah is wearing a hospital gown this shows
the audience that that she was injured in the car crash mentally and
physically by the los of her daughter and her husband. When she is getting
changed by the dark ness the gown stands out a lot as its quite bright and
stands out when surrounded by the darkness this bright gown. The light
effects the gown and gives it a green tint as the lights reflect on the gown.
The light gown may show how venerable she is as the light gown can be
swallowed by the darkness.
5. Props
One of the main props used in this film is the hart beat monitor as it has a big effect on the
audience as it shows that Sarah is injured and in hospital. When you see her awake you see
that she is attached to the heartbeat monitor which she soon pulls the heartbeat cables off.
This then makes the heartbeat monitor makes a sudden flat noise which shocks the audience
and even makes Sarah scared. This makes us remember the cause of why Sarah is in
hospital. In the second scene there is the birthday cake that appears in quite a few scenes
with Sarah's daughter this is a big part of the props as it appears so much throughout the
film. This prop shows the audience that Jessica is dead and that she died the day before her
birthday the cakes really stands out as it is in focus and has a black background behind it
showing it’s the main focus of the scene. It also shows that it could be Sarah imagining or
even dreaming f her daughter.
6. Sound
There is a fair bit of sound in this clip such as diegetic sound e.g. sound that is in the
seen such as the heartbeat monitor and people talking at the end of the scene such as
when Beth is talking to Sarah trying to comfort her when she bumps in to each other
and Sarah starts crying. And people talking in the background when the corridor is
crowded also juno is in the background crying. And there is diegetic sound which is
used to give a spooky atmosphere this is the music that is added as an after effect.
