Mise en-scene

Key props include a burning birthday card and gasoline can matching song lyrics. Outdoor and indoor settings will be ordinary locations.

Mise en scene
- 1. Mise en scene for our music video.
- 2. Make up and hair For the make Amy wore dark makeup to go with the type of the song as it has a dark mellow tone to it. She wore dark eye makeup as well as a dark plum lip. The dark make up combines with the rest of the features, for example, we are planning to use dark colour correction on the video to make it look darker than it appears. We are also planning to create our CD pack using dark colours as well as the website so they are co inside. We also opted for Amy to have curly hair as we thought that this would look more done up.
- 3. Make up – crying scene To create this look Amy dipped her eye shadow brush in water and dragged it down her face to create a messed up look. This also goes by the Levi Strauss’s theory as the make up look matches the lyrics.
- 4. Accessories and clothing In pop genre music videos there is usually an emphasis on expensive jewellery and other ‘shiny’ objects that may catch the attention of the viewer. For this reason Amy wore a number of silver rings on her fingers, Amy also painted her nails black to go with the ‘dark’ theme. In addition, the clothing Amy wore was all black to once again go with the theme, she wore black jeans and a long sleeve black turtle neck top, this allows the viewer to focus on the lyrics rather than looking at other factors, especially in the lip syncing scenes as the back ground is also black so the main focus is Amy and the main movement is her lips.
