INTRODUCTION TO ECG
An ECG is used to measure the electrical activity of the heart.
Measures the rate and regularity of heartbeats.
ECG can be recorded on paper or displayed moniter
by attaching special electrodes to setup that can
amplify and record an ECG.
4. Heart has a natural pacemaker that regulates the pace and rate
of heart
3
HEART ACTIVITY
Electrical currents create different potentials at
different points on the body.
Heart wall contraction spreads electrical currents from the
heart throughout the body.

ECG INTERPRETATION
P-Wave = Atrail Depolarisation
PR Interval = Impulse from atria to ventricals
QRS complex = ventricular depolarisation
ST Segment = Repolarisation part
T-Wave = Ventricular Repolarisation
QT Interval = it spans depolarisation
to completion of repolari-
sation of ventricles.
