The document outlines three potential film ideas:
1) A hooligan film called "Extreme Victory" about a teenager drawn into football hooliganism. Scenes could be easily filmed in London on private property with access to actors.
2) A gangster film called "Payback" about a man escaping London for Spain but getting involved with a gang. Scenes in London are feasible but footage abroad is not realistic.
3) A thriller called "Soldier of Retaliation" about a soldier befriending a family where deaths later occur. Costumes and war footage are not realistic within the budget.
"Extreme Victory" is chosen as it has the most advantages in terms of access
1. • Hooligan Film
• ‘’You don’t run, not when you’re with
us… You stand your ground and fight!’’
• I chose this tagline because it
represents violence bravery
and team work. Which is what
hooliganism is about.
• Alcohol
• Weapons: Bats, Hammers,
Tear Gas, Police Dogs,
Armoured Vehicles, Water
Cannons.
• I chose to pick these props because
they are all associated with
hooliganism and violence.
• Football Grounds
• London Streets
• Pubs
• I chose a hooligan film because my uncle
used to be a hooligan so I can easily get
background information on hooliganism
• 15 – 25 year olds
• I chose this target audience because the
action and violence will be of interest to
young people and older people to. Some
males will be interested in watching this
film to as they may be able to relate.
• Violence
• Team Work
• Football
• disruptive or unlawful
behaviour
• Rioting
• Bullying
• Vandalism
• I chose these locations because they
associate correctly with where
hooligans would be located.
• Two Main Characters – One of each
the head of each firm
• Two Gangs – 4 people in each gang
• Police
• I chose these themes
because they are
appropriate for my film
choice and clearly represent
the theme of hooliganism.
• I chose these characters because
they all portray who would feature
in a hooligan film.
2. • Gangster
• I chose this tagline because it
addresses the thrill and
action that will be expressed
in the film
• 15 – 25 year olds
• I chose this genre for my
second film because it is a
popular choice and has a
wide range audience.
• Streets
• Estates
• Garages
• Basement
• Dark / Scary / Shady areas + places
• Pubs
( All London Based)
• I chose this range as my target
audience because typically gangster
films interest a vast amount of
people. The genre is popular and
generally everyone loves ‘’gritty’’
films.
• I chose these locations as they
are all associated with the
‘’Gangster’’ genre and correctly
represent where gangs would
be situated.
• Violence
• Sex
• Drugs
• Crime
• I chose these variety of themes
because they are all what makes a
gangster film. With none of these
themes a gangster movie, would not
be a gangster movie.
• ‘’For every action, there is
a reaction’’
• Drugs
• Sunglasses
• Alcohol
• Guns
• Cars
• Knifes
• Lighter
• Cigarettes
• Jewellery
• ‘’Ghetto Attire’’
• I chose these props as I will
use them to portray the
gangster theme I am
attempting to portray in my
film.
• Main Character – Tommy
• One Gang – 5 Members…
• Women
• Police
• Community
• I chose these characters because they are
the main features for my film. Without
gangs, women and police my ‘gangster’
film would not be a gangster film
3. • Thriller Film
• ‘’No one is safe’’
• Sniper
• Rifle
• Film blood
• Costumes
• Phone
• I chose to pick these props because
they are all associated with the thriller
theme.
• Lonely suburban roads
• Forest
• Abandoned houses and
estates
• Empty dark rooms
• 15 – 25 year olds
• I chose this target audience because the
action and violence will be of interest to
young people and older people to.
• Isolation
• Thrill
• Anxiety
• Fear
• Anticipation
• Two Main Characters – Antagonist and
Protagonist
• Police
• Other victims
• Community
• Press
• I chose this tagline because its
self explanatory. It is straight to
the point and illustrates fear.
Just as a thriller film would be.
• I chose these locations because they
associate correctly with where a
Thriller would be located.
• I chose these themes
because they are
appropriate for my film
choice and clearly represent
the theme of a thriller movie
• I chose these characters because
they all portray who would feature
in a Thriller film.
• I chose this genre for my
second film because it is a
popular choice and has a wide
range audience.
4. Freddie is a teenager who finds himself drawn into the hectic world of
football hooliganism. Influenced by the firms top man Alfie. Freddie
being accepted by the gang for his fast mouth and sense of humour.
Freddie soon becomes one of the boys. As Alfie and his gang clash with
rival firm Tottenham and the violence spirals out of control, Freddie
realises he wants out – he learns its not easy to walk away.
5. Larry a young lad on the run from the grimy ghetto of south
London, plans his escape and the beginnings of a new life in
sunny Spain – the cost del sol.
Armed with nothing but a bundle of cash stashed in his
luggage he heads of. Larry has no idea that this money will
lead him into a life with ex-gangster Charlie. Before he
knows it Larry's got more than he bargained for. He
becomes part of Charlie's gang and quickly shoved into the
world of organized crime.
6. A solider, David. Introduces himself to
the Smith family, calming to be a friend
of their Son, Jack. Their son died in
action with David. After David is
welcomed into the Smith home, a
series of deaths happen seeming to be
connected to his presence.
7. Disadvantages
• 1 – May be hard to get hold of big
amounts of money for the escaping
scene.
• 2 – Getting footage of Larry meeting ex-gangster
Charlie is not realistic – not
enough budget.
• 3 – Footage of a robbery can come with
complications because although it is not
real outsiders may think it is and police
may be called as a result.
Advantages
• 1- Start of the film is based in
London therefore it is easy
access for me to film it.
• 2 – Will be easy to film the
footage of Larry escaping.
(Can film it in a private
property)
• 3 – Footage of drug deals are
possible. This can be filmed
in a private property.
• 4 – Actors – I am able to get
actors easily such as
volunteers, teachers,
students and friends.
8. Disadvantages
• Difficult to get costuming for a
solider, it is expensive. (but
possibility drama department in
school may have a costume)
• It is not realistic getting footage of
the son, jack. Dying in the war
• Difficult to get scenes of the solider,
David. and son, jack together
fighting in the war.. Not realistic.
Advantages
• Easy access to actors such as
volunteers, friends, students and
teachers.
• Footage of the solider David
meeting the Smith family is easily
filmed. (private property)
9. Disadvantages
• Budget wise, realistically I don’t have the
funding to get tickets to visit the inside of
the stadium and get footage in there.
• I will require very violent scenes in public,
which cant film because outsiders my
think it is real as a consequence police
may be called
• Scene with weapon involved cant be
filmed outside in public due to the law
Advantages
• The two feature football grounds in
my film are both local: Tottenham
stadium and Arsenal stadium
• Easily get actors for my two firms –
school students to volunteer. (fun
role)
• I don’t require a large number of
actors
• Filming scenes of Freddie are
reasonably straight forward all
scenes are London based and in
private property's.
10. Analysing my three storylines, I have decided to choose the film Extreme Victory. The film
Extreme Victory is London based . The plot has locations that I can get easy access to. The
storyline is fairly straight forward. I am able to get actors with any fees to play the roles of
my characters.
In contrast to Payback and Solider of Retaliation, both films are very expensive and my
budget will not cover the needs for the film. The story lines both include un-realistic aspects
such as needing footage in Spain for the film payback and footage in the War for Solider of
Retaliation.
So overall, I am confident my choice for Extreme Victory is the most best, realistic and
suitable choice.
