Editor's Notes

  1. Hi class, My Name is Rajeshni Shandil. For this presentation, I choose  NASA'S APOLLO  MOON LANDING 11.
  2. Apollo 11 was the American spaceflight that first landed humans on the moon. (July 16-24, 1969). Commander Neil Armstrong and lunar pilot Buzz Aldrin landed the Apollo Lunar Module Eagle on July 20, 1969. Apollo 11 was a Type G mission, a piloted lunar landing demonstration. The primary objective of the Apollo program was to perform a piloted lunar landing and return safely to Earth  Apollo 11 was the culmination of the Apollo program and a massive national commitment by the United States to beat the Soviet Union in putting people on the Moon. Apollo 11 launched from Cape Kennedy on July 16, 1969, carrying Commander Neil Armstrong, Command Module Pilot Michael Collins and Lunar Module Pilot Edwin "Buzz" Aldrin into an initial Earth-orbit of 114 by 116 miles.
  3. NASA stands for National Aeronautics and Space Administration. It was formed on July 29, 1958.  NASA is a U.S. government agency that is responsible for science and technology related to air and space. The Space Age started in 1957 with the launch of the Soviet satellite Sputnik. The capsule communicators for the Apollo mission were Major Charles Moss Duke, Jr. (USAF), Lt. Commander Ronald Ellwin Evans (USN), Lt. Commander Bruce McCandless II (USN), Lovell, Anders, Lt. Commander Thomas Kenneth “Ken” Mattingly II (USAF), Haise, Don Leslie Lind, Ph. D., Owen Kay Garriott, Jr., Ph. D., and Harrison Hagan “Jack” Schmitt, Ph. D. The support crew were Mattingly, Evans, Major William Reid Pogue (USAF), and John Leonard “Jack” Swigert, Jr. The flight directors were Clifford E. Charlesworth and Gerald D. Griffin (first shift), Eugene F. Kranz (second shift), and Glynn S. Lunney (third shift). Apollo 11(no date), Retrieved June 14..
  4. According to OpenStax, "Secondary groups are often larger and impersonal. They may also be task-focused and time-limited. These groups serve an instrumental function rather than an expressive one, meaning that their role is more goal- or task-oriented than emotional. NASA’s Headquarters is in Washington, D.C. The agency has nine centers, the Jet Propulsion Laboratory and seven test and research facilities located in several states around the country. More than 17,000 people work for NASA. Many more people work with the agency as government contractors. These people are hired by companies that NASA pays to do work. The combined workforce represents a variety of jobs. Astronauts may be the best-known NASA employees, but they only represent a small number of the total workforce
  5. Astronauts in orbit conduct scientific research. Satellites help scientists learn more about Earth. Space probes study the solar system and beyond. New developments improve air travel and other aspects of flight.  NASA is also beginning a new program to send humans to explore the Moon and Mars. In addition to those significant missions, NASA does many other things. The agency shares what it learns so that its information can make life better for people worldwide. The primary objective of Apollo 11 was to complete a national goal President John F. Kennedy set on May 25, 1961: To perform a crewed lunar landing and return to Earth. Loff, S . (2015).
  6. In 1961, President John F Kennedy responded by announcing his plans to send astronauts to the Moon. Mathematician Katherine Johnson, née Katherine Coleman, also known as (1939–56) Katherine Goble (born August 26, 1918, White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia, U.S.—died February 24, 2020, Newport News , Virginia), American mathematician who calculated and analyzed the flight paths of many y  spacecraft during her more than three decades with the U.S. space program. The crew members for this historic mission were Neil Alden Armstrong, commander; Lt. Colonel Michael Collins (USAF), command module pilot; and Colonel Edwin Eugene “Buzz” Aldrin, Jr. (USAF), lunar module pilot.
  7. Astronauts, scientists, mathematicians, and communicators worked together to successfully launch the spacecraft into space and help navigate the stem..he engineers, technicians, and scientists helped to build a spaceship that functioned. The Saturn V rocket launched Apollo 11. Measuring 42m high and 10m wide, Saturn V’s first stage is known as S-IC. The 3 Apollo astronauts had different personalities, but they made, but they made it  work.  They interacted successfully under the most extreme circumstances. They had confidence in their systems in spite of the risk.
  8. An instrumental leader is one who is goal-oriented and largely concerned with accomplishing set tasks, for example, Apollo Landing 11 was a  complete a national goal set by President John F. Kennedy on May 25, 1961: perform a crewed lunar landing and return to Earth. - Democratic leaders encourage group participation in all decision-making. They work hard to build consensus before choosing a course of action and moving forward. On this Assignment, Govt of US including federal states Invested in launching the spacecraft
  9. Crewmembers are constantly checking support systems, cleaning filters, and updating computer equipment.  The ISS crew spends their day working on science experiments that require their input. They also monitor experiments that are controlled from the ground.  Members are constantly in touch with updated events and findings. Members work as a team; they support each other in research and  constantly check support systems, clean filters, and update navigation. The A Apollo project team was estimated at over 300,000 people. It was not about one person but the whole Team. Peregrine, M. (2019).
  10. *The effectiveness of pre-mission training was reflected in the skill and precision with which the crew executed the lunar landing. Manual control while maneuvering to the desired landing point was satisfactorily exercised. *The planned techniques involved in guiding, navigating, and controlling the descent trajectory were good. The performance of the landing radar met all expectations in providing the information required for the descent. *The Mission Control Center and the Manned Space Flight Network proved to be adequate for controlling and monitoring all phases of flight, including the descent, surface activities, and ascent phases of the mission. Apollo 11 (no date), (Retrieved: 15 June 2023).
  11. Information for my presentation was obtained from above resources. Thank you.
