Summary

VOIP Engineer
Managed a large scale CUCM 10.5 and Unity server with 115 branch locations and
Headquarters for 6000 employees. There were 300 trouble tickets when he hired in late
June. Rapidly took ownership of tickets and reduced the tickets to less than 20 trouble
tickets by end of July.
 Working with the individuals and 3rd vendors for solving network problems with
in the call system.

Design Engineer
Engineering a Light Gig solution for ATT. Design a product to replace the existing
copper. Utilized the AutoCAD tool to produce design for ATT across the Midwest and
South region of the United States.

Supported of a Cisco network for a cutting edge online marketing firm. Rapid growth of a
company that had 600 people over 2 locations. Dynamic positive Attitude to and address

o VML partners and associates utilized a Cisco AP solution
o Troubleshot several challenging problems on the AP solutions.
o Constant challenge of dynamic wireless solution with increasing loads and
limited resources.

o Investigated issue with Office 365 and the UCM server voice mail capability.

o Applied updated rules to improve network security between 2 locations
o Added Virtual Private Network VPN rules for local servers from VML to
customers I.E. Ford, Sprint, Morgan Stanley, Sprint

o Suggested that the Unified Communication System CUCS server be
replaced.
o Recommended that cabling in backup facility needed to be replaced since
runs were from mid 1990s.
 UPS batteries for switches s were replaced. The replacement batteries had been
onsite for 2 years.
Worldlink INC for Samsung Overland Park KS- April 2011 to December 2014
IP Network Engineer
Rip and Replace equipment in 34 different markets across the northern and the West
Coast of the United States. This challenge also included a challenge to replace
equipment in Puerto Rico.
 Built out Core and Satellite sites to provide improved customer experience.
 First vendor to complete project despite the carrier compressing the 3 year
schedule
 Partnered with Cisco Systems on deployment of Cisco ASR 9010 solution
providing redundant service.
 Cloud security running VMware between Samsung and Sprints production

 Worked with a competing vendor Eriksson to deliver to market elements within
customers compressed schedule.
 Provided carrier with firewall rules devising communication with other vendor’s
equipment and network.
 Used established relationship from the past to clear roadblocks in the project to
get all elements Network Ready NRD.
 Established drove troubleshooting bridges to isolate and clear unique network and
firewall issues
 Established a system that was repeatable for automation of IP plans and firewall
request.

 Worked on setting up prerecorded lines on the CUCM server with the call center.

4.  Setup Side Car for many of the executive assistants.
 Established many of the conference phones for the executive conference calls
within UMB headquarters.
 Configured some route call plans to send call to a group of phones

 Proposed a project to recycle voice over IP switches in the headquarters. Switches
had capacity issues.
 Recovered and contacted Cisco after supervisor card failure
 Upgraded core infrastructure cards to 10 Gig.
 Put in charge of running the network portion of a disaster preparedness drill at the
backup facility
 Subject mater expert of getting the automatic teller machines back online at
remote locations
 Responsible for keeping the local branch locations voice and data services online
 Specialist in APC battery backup in full operational and in good working order.
 Selected as UMB Administrator for wireless services for 3000 UMB associates.
Sprint Overland Park KS 1998-2009
System Integrator III
Served 3 roles while at Sprint. I have divided each into a separate heading
System Administrator- 1998-2001 provided serves as a network Administrator help
desk to 750 engineers at the Network Operations center
 Supported the Microsoft Exchange file and print services for the engineers
divided among 4 buildings.
 Built out building 5 on the campus to add 200 support personal
 Upgraded the Microsoft Exchange from a DEC Alpha server to Data General
Clustered Server solution.
 File and Print services were migrated to a Terabyte of Disk space. The Clarion
drive array was later purchased by EMC
 Obtained my Microsoft Certified System Engineer MCSE
System Integrator II-2000-2007 Chosen for a new team Customer Data Network
Operations to build out Data services for customer wireless handset.
 Won 3 Sprint Excellence awards while on this team for superior turn up of data
services for 3G and 2G data services
 Subject matter expert of 2G data platform at 110 switch sites. Replaced the
vendor to establish 99.999 percent reliability.
 Added servers for team to automate a complex solution for 3 G services.
o Supported a SQL server that provided a configuration script within 2
minutes to any element Starent/Cisco ST 15000 within the network.
o Built terminal services for remote management of servers located at the
switch locations.

 Chosen to introduce Telecom engineers with no background in IP service
 24x7 On Call for 2G IWF platform for an entire year

outage restoration.
