Metro Tech's (www.metrotech.edu) South Bryant Campus launched the 1Accord Student Leadership Academy in September of 2015, which was designed to enhance the educational experience for students.

LAUNCHED THE 1ACCORD STUDENT LEADERSHIP
ACADEMY IN SEPTEMBER OF 2015,
WHICH WAS DESIGNED TO ENHANCE THE
EDUCATIONAL EXPERIENCE FOR STUDENTS.

This is funded by a grant from the
Kirkpatrick Foundation
and funds from the Metro Tech Foundation
- stands for Action, Communication,
Overcoming,
Resilience and Diversity.

4. These 5 areas will be discussed to students
by guest speakers during monthly after-
school meetings.

5. Students also discuss assigned reading from
The Student Leader in a roundtable format.

6. The Student Leader text mirrors Metro
Tech's Five Practices of Exemplary
Leadership and
aligns with the school's Mission and Core
Values.

7. The Academy is comprised of
six Oklahoma City Public Schools (OKCPS)
high school students who attend
Metro Tech half days.

8. In addition, three 6th grade students
from OKCPS Bodine Elementary.

9. In addition to monthly meetings,
1Accord planned a community awareness
day.
