Metasearch engines search the databases of other search engines and aggregate the results. They do not maintain their own databases but instead send search queries to other search engines like Google and compile the results. This allows metasearch engines to provide a more comprehensive set of results than a single search engine by drawing from multiple sources.

variety of search engine databases.
• The search query will go through the
databases of other search engines and will
then give out the results.

• The metasearch engines use other search
engines to gather their results.
• Since they search through other search
engines’ databases, they don’t really have to
update anything.
• The metasearch program goes over other
databases to pick and find keywords for the
search.

4. Examples
• The metasearch engines are better to use
when a person is unlucky in finding what they
need.
• If for example, I want to find a particular
restraunt that I was unable to find on
Google, then I can go and search on a
metasearch engine. This will give me results
from other search engines too and hopefully
I’ll be able to find what I was looking for.
