Rubber extruders have a varied field of application. So, when you come across a rubber profile, strip, hose, cable, wire, cord coating, tire tread, v-belt, tube, or blank remember that they are only a few handful of products manufactured using extrusion process. In this Knowledge On-The-Go Special Supplement, we bring to you a ‘collector’s edition’ on Extruders and Extrusion incorporating the fundamentals.
The MagWave features two separate close-coupled chambers for the level indicator float and the Guided Wave Radar antenna. Using single probe radar transmitters in the standard 1-1/2 inch chamber provides the measurement capabilities of coaxial style probes without the potential for fouling due to buildup. The separate float chamber allows the float to travel unobstructed throughout the range of measurement. Redundant level control can be achieved by adding a magnetostrictive transmitter or switches to the float chamber.
A brief summary of Water System in pharmaceuticals including its production and distribution with regulatory and qualification requirements. This presentation gives a basic layout to non-engineering people a basic understanding of Water System in Pharmaceutical.
Sterile filtration of complex injectables by Partha BanerjeeMerck Life Sciences
Sterile filtration and filter validation remain a critical segment during the development of these segments of products. Let's find the same by understanding a checklist and visualize certain case studies.
As the sterile injectable market continues to see rapid growth (~10% to 15% per annum) – outpacing the growth of oral products – it is natural to see the diversity of parenteral product formulations increasing in parallel. The definition of complexity in parenteral formulation development is broad. It varies based on the stage of development and the specific nature of the challenge. A notionally simple, stable reproducible laboratory formulation may carry a level of complexity in aseptic control if routine means of sterilization are unavailable.
Sterile filtration process intensification can bring significant benefits to manufacturers in terms of manufacturing flexibility, reduction of risks, better turn around time, thus achieving significantly higher productivity. We will identify these scenarios with case studies to reduce complications in manufacturing and process development.

Holding Power is Ellis Patents guarantee that EP Cable Cleats will contain dangerous short circuit forces - protecting your people, power and plant. Without fail - specify Ellis Patents Cable Cleats.
Alpha cable cleats contain single core power cables in trefoil formation - lightweight, fast to install, strong and robust with unique design providing labour savings. Short circuit withstand test : 31.4kA RMS (72.4kA peak).
Vulcan cable cleats for single, trefoil, quadrafoil and bundled cable installations - suits LV, 11kV-33kV BS6622 and BS7870 Triplex high voltage cables.
Made from stainless steel for non corrosive, high strength and permanent utility cable cleating with compact design.
Ellis Patents are a leading voice in the campaign to have cable cleats reclassified as short-circuit protection devices. A move that would mean cable cleats would be placed on a parallel with fuses and circuit breakers. "This reclassification makes absolute sense. In the event of a cable fault, the forces between cables reach their peak in the first quarter cycle, which is the point that cable cleats earn their crust. In contrast, circuit breakers typically interrupt the fault after 3 or even 5 cycles by which time, if the cable cleats are underspecified, the cables will no longer be secure, but will be putting vital electrical installations and lives at unnecessary risk," says Paul Nolan UK Sales Manager, EP.
biaxial footing will have staad model interaction. with scroll system more than 100 load cases can be analysed & printed in separate sheet. saves considerable time

Neuro-symbolic is not enough, we need neuro-*semantic*Frank van Harmelen
Neuro-symbolic (NeSy) AI is on the rise. However, simply machine learning on just any symbolic structure is not sufficient to really harvest the gains of NeSy. These will only be gained when the symbolic structures have an actual semantics. I give an operational definition of semantics as “predictable inference”.
All of this illustrated with link prediction over knowledge graphs, but the argument is general.

Smithy Ruby is an implementation of Smithy that generates a Ruby SDK using a Smithy model. In this talk, we will explore Smithy and Smithy Ruby to learn how to generate custom feature-rich SDKs that can communicate with any web service, such as a Rails JSON API.
Kubernetes & AI - Beauty and the Beast !?! @KCD Istanbul 2024Tobias Schneck
As AI technology is pushing into IT I was wondering myself, as an “infrastructure container kubernetes guy”, how get this fancy AI technology get managed from an infrastructure operational view? Is it possible to apply our lovely cloud native principals as well? What benefit’s both technologies could bring to each other?
Let me take this questions and provide you a short journey through existing deployment models and use cases for AI software. On practical examples, we discuss what cloud/on-premise strategy we may need for applying it to our own infrastructure to get it to work from an enterprise perspective. I want to give an overview about infrastructure requirements and technologies, what could be beneficial or limiting your AI use cases in an enterprise environment. An interactive Demo will give you some insides, what approaches I got already working for real.

Epistemic Interaction - tuning interfaces to provide information for AI supportAlan Dix
Paper presented at SYNERGY workshop at AVI 2024, Genoa, Italy. 3rd June 2024
https://alandix.com/academic/papers/synergy2024-epistemic/
As machine learning integrates deeper into human-computer interactions, the concept of epistemic interaction emerges, aiming to refine these interactions to enhance system adaptability. This approach encourages minor, intentional adjustments in user behaviour to enrich the data available for system learning. This paper introduces epistemic interaction within the context of human-system communication, illustrating how deliberate interaction design can improve system understanding and adaptation. Through concrete examples, we demonstrate the potential of epistemic interaction to significantly advance human-computer interaction by leveraging intuitive human communication strategies to inform system design and functionality, offering a novel pathway for enriching user-system engagements.

Mesh Sizes and Microns
What does mesh size mean? Count the number of openings in one inch of screen (United States mesh size). The
number of openings is the mesh size. So a 4-mesh screen means there are four little squares across one linear inch
of screen. A 100-mesh screen has 100 openings, and so on. As the number describing the mesh size increases, the
size of the particles decreases. Higher numbers equal finer material. Mesh size is not a precise measurement of
particle size.
What do the minus (-) and plus (+) plus signs mean when describing mesh sizes? Here’s a simple example of
how they work. –200-mesh would mean that all particles smaller than 200-mesh would pass through. +200 mesh
means that all the particles 200-mesh or larger are retained.
How fine do screens get? That depends on the wire thickness. The finer the weave, the closer the wires get
together, eventually leaving no space between them at all. For this reason, beyond 325-mesh particle size is usually
described in “microns.”
2. What is a micron? A micron is another measurement of particle size. A micron is one-millionth of a meter or one
twenty-five thousandth of an inch.
