10. I understand that what I want takes a lot of hard
work. I’ve been a skilled bricklayer for 10 years.
I was a Marine for 6. I understand very well the
meaning of hard work.

11. I qualify for only 90% of the GI Bill.
Even though I have three deployments I
only have a total of 33 months on active
duty. 36 would have gotten me 100%.

12. The Yellow Ribbon is additional funding
for veterans who qualify for 100% of the
GI Bill. The VA will pay a matching value
of what the school is will to grant towards
tuition.
Example: If a school gives a student
$2,000 the VA gives the student another
$2,000.

13. Full Sail’s Contribution
Full Sail is generous enough to make
tuition completely free for these veterans
by paying half of any remaining tuition
costs not covered by the GI Bill. The
Yellow Ribbon pays the other half.

14. I don’t qualify for the Yellow Ribbon, so I
had to take about $30,000 in student loans.
That means that Full Sail saved about
$15,000 on my undergrad.

15. The Game Design Masters program costs about
$35,000 in tuition.
I will have enough time remaining on my own
GI Bill to cover half of the Masters program.

16. What I Need

17. Secondly I need motivational support. My
undergrad degree is so valuable in the
market that I am very tempted to cut my
dream short and get to work. I don’t like
it, but money has a real influence in my
decisions.
