The document provides an overview of the gender pay gap in various UK industries and challenges faced by women in the UK workforce.
Empowering Women in Energy Management and EnvironmentEMEX
The EMA Empowering Women in Energy Management and Environment group was launched last year at EMEX. This group helps to encourage and enable more women to enter the world of Energy Management and other environmental roles.
The panel discussed the level of awareness and understanding of this very rewarding career amongst those facing future career choices, and indeed the barriers to this route for women.
Digital inclusion for older isolated people - our learning journey, pop up un...NHS England
Expo is the most significant annual health and social care event in the calendar, uniting more NHS and care leaders, commissioners, clinicians, voluntary sector partners, innovators and media than any other health and care event.
Expo 15 returned to Manchester and was hosted once again by NHS England. Around 5000 people a day from health and care, the voluntary sector, local government, and industry joined together at Manchester Central Convention Centre for two packed days of speakers, workshops, exhibitions and professional development.
This year, Expo was more relevant and engaging than ever before, happening within the first 100 days of the new Government, and almost 12 months after the publication of the NHS Five Year Forward View. It was also a great opportunity to check on and learn from the progress of Greater Manchester as the area prepares to take over a £6 billion devolved health and social care budget, pledging to integrate hospital, community, primary and social care and vastly improve health and well-being.

Research In Action #1 - Mentoring: A Key Resource for Promoting Positive Youth Development
This series was developed by MENTOR and translates the latest mentoring research into tangible strategies for mentoring practitioners. Research In Action (RIA) makes the best available research accessible and relevant to the mentoring field.
Hosted by the Mentoring Partnership of Minnesota; Mentoring Across Generations: Engaging Age 50+ Adults as Mentors; featuring Dr. Andrea Taylor, Temple University
This session explains the processes involved with getting a peer program of the ground at St. Johns Youth Service in South Australia. A major component to getting the program running was a research project that explored which participation models work best for peer programs. The finding of this research is presented here.
If viewers would like to see the research paper from the project please visit www.stjohnsyouthservices.org.au.
This presentation was given by Bria Partridge, St. Johns Youth Service and Krystal Hancock, a young person.

3. Snapshot UK
Each year across the UK 3 million women
experience violence, and there are many more living
with the legacies of abuse experienced in the past.
The conviction rate for rape has fallen for three
decades, and now stands at 5.7% of reported rapes
in England and Wales, and just 4.3% in Scotland
It is estimated that violence against women costs
society £40 billion each year (New Philanthropy
Capital).
4. Snapshot UK- Women
Just 20 per cent of our MPs are women.
The UK ranks 41st out of 184 countries around the world in
terms of the percentage of women in parliament
Women working full-time earn, on average, 17% less an hour
than men working full-time. For women working part-time the
gap is 36% an hour.
Two-fifths of women in employment in Britain work part-time,
compared with 11% of men
11% of directors of the UK's top 100 companies are women
Employees in Britain work the longest hours of developed
nations (more than 25% work more than 45 hours a week), with
men working much longer hours on average than women,
mainly due to women’s caring responsibilities
