• Yes, we had the same studies. His career path was similar to what I want to achieve
• He did, at least in the beginning. I had strong interest in Property Development but at the end he made me realise that I wanted to
go more on the finance side of real estate. From then I developed a passion for REPE, REIM and Infrastructure.

• Absoluut, ik herinner me nog in mijn gesprek met mijn mentor dat ik hier veel nuttige informatie uit heb kunnen halen. Ik wou
graag een stage regelen voor de zomer van 2021, en hij heeft me goed kunnen helpen in dit gesprek met mogelijke bedrijven
waarbij zo'n eerste stage mogelijk is. In de volgende mails/gesprekken heeft hij me echt kunnen voorbereiden op mijn sollicitatie
bij The Capital Link. Ik kan met zekerheid zeggen dat ik zonder deze hulp nooit aan deze stage was geraakt. Het was mijn eerste
sollicitatie als derde bachelor en mijn eerste sollicitatie was direct een succes.

• It was a "middle good fit", as there were not really alumni involved in quant finance. However, my mentor managed to put me in
touch with one of her contacts that was working in my field of interest.

• Insights about the recruitment process in the consulting field

• Knowledge, my mentor made me realise that real estate and real estate investments were much more
complicated than what we think.

• De voorbereiding op de sollicitatie zelf, wat voor vragen deze persoon zou stellen & hoe ik me goed kon
voorbereiden

• That the network and the "reputation" of the diploma might be more important that we think to reach some
specific companies or jobs.

• Frequent meetings
• We decided (both sides) to not do weekly/monthly calls unless needed. So we only did one call, and the rest
of the conversations were through whatsapp chat. While we were able to accomplish the goals, it may have
been more personal with fixed scheduled calls.

  • 6. Do you think your mentor was a good fit for your career path? Why not? • Yes • Yes very good fit • Yes, we had the same studies. His career path was similar to what I want to achieve • He did, at least in the beginning. I had strong interest in Property Development but at the end he made me realise that I wanted to go more on the finance side of real estate. From then I developed a passion for REPE, REIM and Infrastructure. • The fit was very good in my opinion. • Absoluut, ik herinner me nog in mijn gesprek met mijn mentor dat ik hier veel nuttige informatie uit heb kunnen halen. Ik wou graag een stage regelen voor de zomer van 2021, en hij heeft me goed kunnen helpen in dit gesprek met mogelijke bedrijven waarbij zo'n eerste stage mogelijk is. In de volgende mails/gesprekken heeft hij me echt kunnen voorbereiden op mijn sollicitatie bij The Capital Link. Ik kan met zekerheid zeggen dat ik zonder deze hulp nooit aan deze stage was geraakt. Het was mijn eerste sollicitatie als derde bachelor en mijn eerste sollicitatie was direct een succes. • Yes perfect fit • Yes, works in the field that interests me • It was a "middle good fit", as there were not really alumni involved in quant finance. However, my mentor managed to put me in touch with one of her contacts that was working in my field of interest. • I think he was. What is the key takeaway from your meetings with your mentor? • Insights about the recruitment process in the consulting field • Asking questions • Practical information based on experience • Knowledge, my mentor made me realise that real estate and real estate investments were much more complicated than what we think. • The importance of good preparation for interviews • De voorbereiding op de sollicitatie zelf, wat voor vragen deze persoon zou stellen & hoe ik me goed kon voorbereiden • Hard work pays off • Different ways to break into the field • That the network and the "reputation" of the diploma might be more important that we think to reach some specific companies or jobs. • To not be afraid to change. I don't have to do the same thing for my whole life. Change is part of the growth process. • Experience
  • 9. What could your mentor do better? • Frequent meetings • We decided (both sides) to not do weekly/monthly calls unless needed. So we only did one call, and the rest of the conversations were through whatsapp chat. While we were able to accomplish the goals, it may have been more personal with fixed scheduled calls. • Motivate me more • I have no concrete points of improvement • Weinig, gezien ik bij mijn eerste sollicitatie direct aangenomen werd • Everything was perfect as it was • I would say my mentor did everything okay. Planned monthly meetings. Always replied when I wrote to him • Be more available (quite unlikely but that's ok)

Why not? • Yes • Definitely • Yes absolutely • You get to meet someone who has the same ambitions that you have and have someone to reach out to for advice.
