Matthias Jung Cloud Security New Problem Or New ContextCloudcamp
Cloud security presents both new and familiar challenges. For Software as a Service (SaaS) and Platform as a Service (PaaS), typical web application attacks like SQL injection and cross-site scripting are well understood threats. Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) involves some old security issues like privacy, intrusion detection, and availability concerns that can be addressed with encryption, firewalls, backups and failover solutions. However, IaaS also introduces new types of attacks related to the elastic nature of cloud resources like denial of service attacks paid by customers, side channel attacks, and vulnerabilities in virtualization software. While cloud security is not inherently less secure, providers and customers must work together to implement solutions for these

The document discusses hybrid clouds, which are composed of two or more distinct cloud infrastructures (private, public, or community) that remain unique but are bound together through standardized technology. This enables data and application portability between the clouds. Hybrid clouds offer the benefits of unlimited scale from public clouds, with the control and compliance of private clouds, while avoiding vendor lock-in. They provide a mix of capital expenditure (capex) and operating expenditure (opex), balancing total cost of ownership with flexibility.
This document discusses the need for automation in cloud computing environments. It notes that cloud infrastructure and services can change instantly, making manual administration too slow. Traditional IT service management approaches do not work in cloud environments where the debugging target is always moving. The document argues that "autopilot ITSM" is needed, with automated processes, service desks, configuration management, and other functions that can react quickly to changes in cloud models and infrastructure based on administrative expertise. It concludes that dynamic, on-demand cloud services require autopilot administration because humans are smart but not fast enough to manage the constant changes.
Uri Budnik gave a presentation at CloudCamp Frankfurt in September 2009 about RightScale, a multi-cloud management platform. RightScale allows customers to automate scaling their infrastructure on multiple cloud platforms, saving costs by only paying for resources when needed. Animoto, a RightScale customer, was able to automatically scale to over 4,700 servers in 3 days to handle a spike in traffic from a Facebook modification, demonstrating how RightScale enables applications to dynamically scale resources on demand.
Different types of cloud computing services have emerged to meet varying needs; consumer web applications prioritize costs and performance while complex simulations require more resources, and integrating software-as-a-service brings new requirements. While virtualization separated services, software, and hardware, cloud computing recombining them in different configurations for different use cases. Managing this transformation challenges IT leaders as strategic issues change every six months but infrastructure updates take around ten years, underscoring the need for methodical project management approaches to handle increasing complexity in cloud computing.
Paul Huppertz Cloud Computing From System Design To Service ComposingCloudcamp
This document discusses cloud computing and how it sources and aggregates service contributions to provide ICT-based business support services. Service contributions from various cloud systems like storage, SaaS, networks, and platforms are composed into an ICT business support service. This service is then rendered to service consumers, who use it to create business value. A service customer commissions the ICT business support service from an accountable service provider.
The document discusses the benefits of exercise for mental health. Regular physical activity can help reduce anxiety and depression and improve mood and cognitive functioning. Exercise boosts blood flow, releases endorphins, and promotes changes in the brain which help regulate emotions and stress levels.
Chris Boos, arago AG: Big Data means new programsCloudcamp
This document discusses analyzing big data and programming for the cloud. It notes that modern smartphones have more computing power than was used for the Apollo missions. It discusses how big data allows finding patterns and anomalies. Cloud computing 1.0 is defined as IT explaining cloud concepts to business people, while cloud computing 2.0 requires new parallel programming approaches. Functional programming is presented as an approach that combines results rather than specifying steps. Examples of big data platforms are provided.

9. Néhány fontos fogalom
• web:
Jelentése: világháló (World Wide Web,
vagy gyakran: www). Tim-Berners Lee
nevéhez fűződik (1989). Az interneten
működő, egymással ún. hiperlinkekkel
összekötött dokumentumok rendszere,
amelyet webböngésző program (pl.
Explorer, Firefox) segítségével lehet
elérni, ami képes megjeleníteni az
egyes dokumentumokat, „weblapokat”.
A felhasználó a lapokon található
hiperlinkek segítségével további
lapokat kérhet le, amelyeken újabb
hiperlinkek lehetnek. A rendszer
„háló”-jellegét is ez adja; a
dokumentumok a háló csomópontjai,
míg a hiperlinkek a háló szálai,
amelyeken keresztül egy vagy több
lépésben tetszőleges csomóponthoz
eljuthatunk.
• Internet:
Jelentése: hálózatok hálózata. Az
egész világot körülölelő számítógép-
hálózat. Az internet egy olyan
hatalmas rendszer, amely számítógép-
hálózatokat fog össze.
• közösségi szoftver:
Olyan program, ami az emberek
közötti virtuális kapcsolatot és
együttműködést segíti elő. Számos
funkciója van: instant messaging (MSN
Messenger, Skype), chat (Gyalogló),
internetes fórumok, blogok, wiki
(Wikipedia), kollaboratív valós idejű
editorok (Google Docs &
Spreadsheets)…
10. … még néhány …
• metaadat:
Strukturált adatok az adatokról. A
weben található dokumentumok
leíró adatai. (pl. a könyvtári
nyilvántartó kártya tartalmazza a
könyvhöz kapcsolódó lényeges
információkat: a könyv íróját,
címét, műfaját, tárolási helyét, a
kölcsönzések dátumát stb.)
• e-tananyag:
Digitális tananyagok
(szövegelemek) és egyéb, az
oktatást kiegészítő digitális
tudáselemek (multimédiás elemek,
pl. képek, videók, flash animációk)
a weben. (pl. SDT, Sulinet)
• folkszonómia:
Közösségi címkézés (tagelés).
Ennek segítségével leíró
kulcsszavakat (angol szóval tag)
rendelhetünk oldalakhoz, vagy
dokumentumokhoz. Így sajátos,
szabadon definiált rendszerek
jönnek létre. A felülről lefelé való
építkezést felváltja az alulról
felfelé való szerveződés. A
címkézés lehetséges céljai:
önkifejezés, információk
szervezése és rendezése,
ismeretszerzés, keresés, döntések
segítése…
11. … és még kettő…
web 1.0
• hagyományos, „ódivatú” weboldalak
• egyszerű technikai szolgáltatás
• statikus oldalak: a felhasználók nem
módosíthatják
• szerzői jogok (copyright) korlátozottak
web 2.0
• először egy 2004-es konferencián
használták a kifejezést ( –Tim O’Reilly)
• inkább közösségi, hálózatépítési
térként kezelik a felhasználók
• dinamikusan formált és alakuló
webhelyek: mi magunk
szolgáltathatjuk/formálhatjuk a
tartalmat
• események, emberek és kapcsolataik
folyama
• liberális licenszfeltételek (Creative
Commons)
12. Címkefelhő
… amiben a címkék nagysága előfordulásuk
gyakoriságát, színárnyalatuk pedig
frissességüket mutatja…
14. Irány a webkettő!
• A Time 2006-os döntése
tulajdonképpen a web 2.0
fontosságát ismerte el,
egy olyan fogalomét,
amelyet 2004-ben találtak
ki, s két év alatt képes
volt megváltoztatni
internetes szokásainkat.
• Vagyis az internetet a
saját képére formáló, a
tartalmat saját maga
generáló felhasználó lett
az év embere.
