• Child development includes physical, mental, emotional, intellectual, and
social changes.
• Infants/ babies are 0-2 years of age.
• Most vital stage, this is where children learn to bond and create self-esteem.
• Toddlers/ preschoolers are 2-5 years of age.
• Children become independent

• Children are 5-12 years old

4. ADOLESCENCE AND TEENAGERS
• Children (teens) are ages 13-18
• Typically most challenges for the parents and teens
• Teens attend middle and high school
• Teen experience body changes due to hormones
• Typically when teens become self conscious
• Teens skills and talents are perfected
• Relationships become more serious
• Peer pressure increases
• During these stages, teens need their parents more than ever
