Daniella Blow
Haydon School Sixth Form
DOB: 03/04/1998
Summary
I am delegated media student who has completed many tasks all the way through from GCSE’s
to A levels. I enjoy everything I learn and complete in Media and hope to continue my media path
after finishing my education.
Education
For 3 years I studied Media studies along with Film studies also. I loved both of these courses.
For GCSE’s I got:
Media- A
Film Studies- A
I am currently at Haydon Sixth Form studying Media Print and Media Film & TV. I am predicted
high grades for both of these subjects.
Work experience
Suit ltd – 6th
- 12th
July 2015-
In the summer holidays I travelled to a media post production. In the time I was here, my role varied from
day to day. I was sent to meet clients down in reception and take them to their rooms, making tea for
employers and also filing paper work. I sat in with different people and got a better idea of what they did,
for example, the editors, the sound technician, the receptionist, graphics and the colour corrector. I found
it very enjoyable.
OK Magazine- 10th
Aug 2015
I attended an experience day at OK magazine. I was placed in the editing/researching office and I
completed a number of jobs I was given, which included writing out transcripts which will feature in the
magazine, wrote up a contents page of everything inside the magazine. I thoroughly enjoyed this day.
Eye PR (public relations) – 2nd
march 2016
I spent a day in the hands of a public relations company. I went down to Bournemouth to reveal the £3
million refurbishment of the village hotel club and gym. Louis Smith was there as the brand ambassador.
There was various things going on throughout the day such as: a press photographer and videographer, a
journalist to interview Louis, questions and answers with Louis, and finally a meet and greet. I got to
witness a lot of things that go on in the real media world which was a bonus.
Skills
I have learnt many skills from my time studying media at Haydon School. Most of which are
programs and how to use them:
Premier Pro- I created my own music video and short film
Photoshop- I have manipulated several images using Photoshop
Adobe after effects-
Adobe Illustrator- I created and coloured a comic with this.
Adobe InDesign- created a digipak and a magazine using this programme.
