The document discusses the title, narrative, trailer, and props for a student horror film called "Paranoia". The title was chosen because one character, Amelia Patel, is cautious and worried as she and her friends camp in the woods. Scenes in the narrative include the group playing games until Amelia spots a man in black watching them. For the trailer, fast editing, sound, and lighting effects will be used to build tension. Props will include fake blood, cameras, masks, bags, and other items to make the story of students camping feel realistic.
Healthy Paranoia: What Keeps Me Up at NightMatt Wurst
With a digital landscape that is constantly changing, social marketers must work with a sense of urgency. This presentation is a summary of what is changing and how to channel our fears to make a positive impact.
From a presentation I gave to the inaugural meeting of the Hacks & Hackers Ottawa chapter. It's a general survey on data journalism (nee computer-assisted reporting).

On the last weekend of 2013 Marcus was writing a list of things that had really annoyed him during the past 12 months. At the top of the list was Edward Snowden. Confused as to why this might be, he let his mind wander a little and found himself in a managed solutions office in Munich airport. He found himself in a meeting room with a beamer, notepads and a plate of biscuits.
It was 2008 and he’d been given a brief.
Four middle-aged gentlemen in suits enter the room, hands are shook, the door is locked and coffee is served. The senior man in the room repeats the terms of the meeting and then Marcus is asked to begin.
“The Pledge, The Turn, The Prestige – The Snowden Pitch” is a fictional pitch presentation that approaches the NSA as if it were a client with unlimited budget, an image problem within the espionage community and explores Edward Snowden as the protagonist of the biggest worked shoot the world has ever seen.
The talk explores why the NSA would have done this, what they would have to gain and, more importantly, it considers that which we have not yet seen – The Prestige.

How to Protect Your Oracle Database from HackersJeff Kayser
Secure your databases! It's where all the juicy information is, right? You know that, and hackers know that. Securing an Oracle database is journey, and you need to take the first step. Come see how you can protect your Oracle Database from hackers
2. Why I chose the title Paranoia
The reason I chose paranoia as it fits the role of one of the characters (
Amelia Patel) who essentially would actually be the main protagonist.
Amelia Patel is also the cautious one – I found this concept in
Halloween Resurrection where protagonist was the one who was the
worried and cautious one amongst her peers, and her peers essentially
lead her into trouble with psychopath Michael Myers.
Also I chose the name paranoia as its powerful and entices the
audience to actually want to watch the movie.
The title paranoia would also go well with the mise-en-scene as i
would be filming in the woods, and woods are usually a large and
intimidating place – and it potentially scares people.
3. Narrative
Seth, Dorian and Huey convince their female friends to camp in the
forest with them, as because these boys are relatively cool, the female
friends agree. The Boys Get Ready and Meet the girls, at the forest they
decide to play games and share secrets like what ordinary teenagers do.
What they don’t know is something is lurking in the woods, watching
their every moves.
Amelia the cautious one backs out of what her friends get up to but starts
walking around and recording nature as well as her friends, she zooms
in and identifies a man with a chain dress in all black!
She screams and her friends start mocking her scared ways. Dorian takes
the camera and tries to spot what she has seen but don't find anything,
the camera is given back to her, and as she records again the same thing
happens. Eventually they split (Boys with boys & Girls with Girls)
4. Trailer
Looking at other horror trailers, I been able to essentially pick up a few
ideas, such as editing technique.
The editing in horror trailers are quite fast pace, as it increase tension, the
directors also use this as the view has inadequate information on what’s
going on – and this can also be linked to the gratification concept.
In my trailer many shots would be Point-Of-Views therefore attempting the
place the audience in the shows of the protagonist, this is also a method used
in Cloverfield & Paranormal activity.
Sound also plays a major role in horror trailers such has an individual
panting, the essentially this could be used to signal something going wrong
e.g. A black screen but something breathing heavily.
The idea of my trailer due to limited resources with feature fast pace editing,
a soundtrack which would play at the beginning and the use of lighting.
5. Props
• Fake Blood – this is used in many horror movie, this is a cliché.
• Video Camera to create Point of view shots
• Trees/Grass – nature is a prop as it has to be selected to be appropriate.
• Mask & Long coat for the psychopath – the long coat would be used to
• Bags – to make the filming natural as their students, books and clothes
would be packed in the bag.
• Glasses – Dorian and Amelia wear glasses
• Books – used to create a sense of realism/ Amelia brings her school books
to study.
• Torch Light – used to show dialog between character
