MECHANICAL
ENERGY
is the energy of either
an object in motion or
the energy that is stored
in objects by their
position.
ENERGY
is the capacity of objects
to exert force and do
work. Work is done when
the force exerted produces
movement.
KINETIC ENERGY
Any moving object can bump another object and
move it in turn. The energy of moving objects called
KINETIC ENERGY
POTENTIAL
ENERGY
Even obiects that do not move possess energy depending on
its shape and position. This stored energy is called
potential energy.
GRAVITATIONAL
POTENTIAL ENERGY
Gravitational potential energy is the energy in an object raised to a height
above the ground. It is directly proportional to the object's mass and height of
elevation. This means that the more massive the object is or the higher it is
elevated, the greater its gravitational potential energy.
