Top themes we considered: Mobile, personal, seamlessly integrated Make it easy to find dark data Finding and connecting libraries & collections in an integrated approach
Recommendation #1 Ongoing Think Tank : keep the 'future thinking" momemtum going through an annual gathering of folks who would be exposed to future thinking and how that changes your view of the world. Possible model: Eureka Leadership Institute On going commitment to evolution, innovation
Recommendation #2: Info test/game Objective: encourage learning & playing @ same time “Question of the day" and other options/games Web-based
Recommendation #3: Mobile apps warehouse : Create an online "warehouse" of mobile device apps that make it easier to connect users with libraries and information. Encourage the library community (especially the tech geeks) to develop apps that libraries can use to promote their services, collections, etc.
Recommendation #4: Skype/video service Use VoIP Personalizes customer service Can be used in-house at time of need Can collaborate w/other libraries (think concentric circles)
Recommendation #5: Dark data/dark collections Identify data & collections Make connections between collections Partner with other cultural institutions Provide multiple nodes of access: geographic, thematic, etc.
