are more than welcome to join us during this time
too!
* JDRF Walk – Volunteers for this event
will be greatly appreciated since I will not
be here for the event!
Homework – See back!This Week’s Highlights
Phonics
We will learn about the sneaky e spelling pattern in
words such as cake, tune, bite, Pete, and note where
the vowel says its name and the e does not say
anything at all. We will continue to work on
manipulating sounds in words and producing
words that contain a specific sound.
Reading
We will finish up our By the Sea unit with a story
titled The Ocean. It is about a little girl’s trip to the
beach and it is written using her five senses. We will
work on the comprehension skill of making
connections. We will also study the descriptive
language the author uses.
Writing
We will finish up our All-About books by writing a
fun facts page and then make sure they are fixed
and fancied up for our author’s celebration next
week.
Math
We will re-visit the concept of geoboards. They are
like pegboards that you can stretch rubber bands on
to make shapes.
Science/Social Studies
We will learn about ways objects can move
(push/pull) and simple machines (pulleys, levers,
and wheels).
Reminders!
ď‚« Return your field trip permission slip and
money!
We are in need of black dry-erase markers,
and 9 oz. cups for the classroom!
Volunteer Opportunities
Homework BINGO
See if you can get 3 BINGO’s this week by completing activities on the board.
* I know these activities are starting to seem repetitive but they are still skills we
are trying to master!
