This Week’s Assignments
Reading – Students have started new mystery group books. They will continue this
week with literature discussions.
Writing – We have been studying the mystery genre so students will be putting that
knowledge to use by writing their very own mystery story.
Spelling – No more spelling for the rest of the year. We will however be working on
some word studies and sorts for the remainder of the year.
Math – We are continuing our review of geometry. We will be focusing on angles,
lines of symmetry and finding area.
Science – Light will be our focus of study this week.
Reminders to Parents
1. Remember to check the blog for new pictures and updates.
2. Check your child’s assignment book nightly and ask them about their day at
school.
3. No more lunch charges can be made.

Last Day of School: May 21st Half Day
*Thank you to everyone that brought in goodies and made me feel very special!! I
have been truly blessed to work with each of you and I can’t even begin to tell you
how much your children mean to me!! I am going to miss them greatly next year!!
I also wanted to thank all of the parents that volunteered to go along on the
Discovery Center field trip. Without you, this trip would not have been possible. I
understand that many of you have to work and are unable to help out. That’s what
makes this trip so challenging, but you all pulled together and we had a great time!
