Experienced individual with a strong understanding of all aspects of the co-ordination of training
development and delivery in the construction sector. Driven by a desire to succeed not only with
my personal goals but also those of the sectors and organisations I serve. Possesses a strong

initiatives.
KEY ACHIEVEMENTS:
Created a system to record information on Training Groups (Both MI and Financial) which
was found to be strong during a recent audit by the CITB Internal Audit Team and has
proven information that is currently being used to define grant funding within the
construction sector.
Highly proficient in respect of financial controls required for the in depth auditing and
approval of Training Group funding both individually and collectively. The Budget for which
was £4.6m during 2015.
Increased and improved the support to Regional Teams across all three nations to enable
work carried out with all groups to be in a consistent and uniform manner. Also by adding
sharing best practice session’s communication across all parties has developed into the
strong network which now exists. This resulted in the delivery of over 35,000 training days
across the 61 regional training groups rising from 28,000 in 2013.

Training Trends - extensive knowledge of training needs across the construction sector Tri-Nation

Development - creation of Systems that have been used for Training Groups information are now
being used across the business
Financial Control - monitoring and authorising payments ensuring consistency using a bespoke
Excel Spreadsheet to record data for efficient analysis and also reducing the burden on those
processing documentation
Marketing - developing and authoring information for a digital Newsletter showcasing Training
Groups achievements as well as ensuring their digital presence
Influencing - converting challenging audiences: ensuring that all views are heard and dealt with in
a way that resolves potential conflict but finds solutions that are agreeable to all parties
CAREER TO DATE:
CITB – Training Group Support Co-ordinator (January 2013 – to date)
Supporting internal and external teams to develop CITB funded Training Groups across the 3
nations
Successfully completed the overall co-ordination strategy for all 91 training groups
(specialist and non-specialist, serviced and independent) across the three nations
Developed and implemented a financial system to improve payment times whilst remaining
auditable with responsibility for a budget totalling £4.6m
Setting up 4 new Training Groups – including application and approval
Development of a system for recording and measuring the criteria of success for all groups
Advised the Chair of the National Training Group Chairs Committee on both internal and
external matters including Regional and National meetings

web site
Organisation and implementation of Regional and National Training Group meetings to
ensure area teams and Training Groups have a consistent forum to give and receive
feedback

Key results:
Established Specialist NVQs at all levels to meet sector specific needs such as Asbestos
Removal, Sprayed Concrete (Crossrail project) and Demolition including centre set up
Implementation and development of formal apprenticeship programmes including both a
full framework and Specialist Apprenticeship Programme for the Demolition Sector
CITB
New Entrant Training Officer (February 1999– October 2000)
Employed as part of an ESF project to qualify the existing interior systems workforce
Key results:
Recruitment and selection of trainees for national Dry Lining project, 1500 in total with a
75% retention rate
on site monitoring and college liaison with all interior systems trainees at the National
Construction College developing both a suspended ceiling and demountable partitions
programme to better suit the industries needs which still is operational today.

I am a trustworthy and ethical person who is conscientious and provides consistent results. I also
have an investigative and methodical approach to problem-solving providing cost effective as well
as positive solutions. Being an enthusiastic and collaborative team worker I encourage and
support other team members to achieve desired outcomes ensuring that is everyone involved and
has ownership.
Exemplary work record - over the past 17 years I have only had one period of absence which was
due to road traffic accident with a possible additional 6 days taken as sick leave.
