This is the first draft that I made of my script different. I highlited all the Exterior Parts in Yellow and the Interior parts in Light blue also colouring the characters names.
2. EXT.PLATFORM.NIGHT
Bryan an 18 Year old male, tall, shy and doesn’t know how to
talk to people that much. He is wearing casual clothes:
Ripped jeans, denim shirt wearing a dark colored jumper over
it. Standing at the platform he’s waiting for the train to
arrive as the sound of the ambience drops. It’s dark, the
only thing keeping the area alight is the lights from the
train station.
BRYAN
(Voice Over)
I’m not your typical teenager. For
starters I’m not good with large
crowds. It’s never been easy, I
can’t really remember when it all
started.
INT.TRAIN.NIGHT
As the train is moving and has passed the station he begins
to fade in, you notice him but others (in the film) don’t
notice him as he is still invisible to them. He’s not sure
how he feels and why he feels that way.
BRYAN
(Voice Over)
I wish I knew what it was like to
be sociable, be able to express my
feelings, yet I can’t and don’t
know how.
EXT.PLATFORM.NIGHT
Leaving the train the platform is empty (or not many people)
and he doesn’t need to worry about large crowds. He finds his
way to the platform stairs and starts to exit.
BRYAN
(Voice Over)
Another years gone by, it’s that
time of year again. My birthday.
You think of birthdays as a
celebratory event where people get
together but over the past few
years it’s just been me and my
friend.
3. INT.APARTMENT.NIGHT
Cutaway to his apartment showing him and his friend
celebrating his birthday alone from a previous year. The
birthday cake and candles on the cake are clearly visible.
EXT.PAVEMENT.NIGHT
Walking on the pavement past the restaurants and past all the
houses. Thinking about something that's on his mind.
BRYAN
(Voice Over)
I’m thinking of someone. I’ve
thought of her a lot but I can’t
quite remember what she looks like
in my mind.
EXT.DAY.PARK
Cutaway of the girl, the one he’s been thinking about in the
park, smiling, happy. He feels the warmth and embraces it.
Shes a similar height to him, has brown hair and crystal blue
eyes. Aged 18 the same as bryan with semi pale/tanned skin.
EXT.PAVEMENT.NIGHT
Almost reaching his apartment he looks behind him, as he
glances forwards again. Shoving his hands in the pockets of
his coat searching for the keys to his apartment. He thinks
back to the train, busy crowds and the girl except he
couldn’t see her.
EXT.DAY.PARK
Cutaway of the same location where he saw the girl in his
mind but he can’t see her. She’s nowhere to be found. He’s
hoping that she’s still there, but she isn’t.
BRYAN
(Voice Over)
I saw her again. But this time it
was different, she wasn’t there.
She disappeared and I couldn’t see
her.

4. EXT.PAVEMENT.NIGHT
He grips on to his key walking to the door, almost inserting
it into the door as it slips onto the ground. Picking the
keys back up and continuing to open the door casually.
Twisting the keys he feels like he’s hearing noises but
ignores them.
INT.APARTMENT ENTRANCE.NIGHT
Casually closing the door behind him he reaches for the
lights to brighten the pitch black room. Switching on the
lights he notices all the people as they all shout at the
same time.

noticed her and wants to say something but nothing comes out.
INT.APARTMENT LIVINGROOM.NIGHT
Walking towards his bedroom being invisible again he opens
the door to his room, opening the door shyly.

5. Swinging the door shut (not fast/hard but enough strength to
gently close the door)
INT.APARTMENT BEDROOM.NIGHT
Throwing himself on the bed covering himself with the pillows
over his face as his friend walks in opening the door,
closing it behind him as he enters. He takes a deep sigh as
he’s seen her he knows that he’s hiding from it all again but
wants to get out there.
Trying to grab the pillows from his face (Bryan’s face) Bryan
grips on to the pillows tighter and tighter trying not to let
go as his fingers slip off.
FRIEND
(Annoyingly)
What the fuck? Are you just going
to live like this your whole life?
You’ve got to face the problem
someday, you can’t just keep
running and hiding, and now’s your
perfect chance, she’s there.
BRYAN
(Stuttering)
I...It’s hard I’ve tried so many
times but I...I...
FRIEND
(Interrupting)
...You what Bryan? That's what I
thought. Listen Bryan, things are
changing and you need to change,
just go out there and talk to her.
He gets up from the bed throwing the pillows at his friends
face. Softly opening the door and closing it behind him. He
wants to be angry at his friend because his friend knows he’s
not good with crowds yet he knows that his friend is only
trying to help, containing to walk forwards down the hallway.
BRYAN
(Shyly)
I... I... I’m Bryan
GIRL HE LIKES
(Smiling whilst she chuckles a bit)

before.

6. BRYAN
(Excited/Shyly)
Your smiling.
GIRL HE LIKES
Yea, I guess I am.
INT.APARTMENT LIVINGROOM.NIGHT
He walks over to get a beer pouring it into a plastic cup.
After pouring himself the beer he takes a large gulp from it.
Trying to think of what to say, pouring the beer only bought
him a small amount of thinking time, most of hit was him
focused on pouring the beer.
BRYAN
(Voice Over)
Come on, think, think.
INT.APARTMENT LIVINGROOM.NIGHT
Hearing his name being called from the kitchen he turns
around trying to find out who was calling him. He’s still
trying to think of things that he could be saying so he’s not
just standing there.
GIRL HE LIKES
(In the distance)
Bryan, Bryan come join us in the
kitchen.

7. GIRL HE LIKES
(In the distance)
Come on Bryan don’t be shy, they’re
just friends.
INT.APARTMENT KITCHEN.NIGHT
Walking into the kitchen he stands there quietly. There is an
awkward silence for a while. Waiting for somebody to say
something she breaks the silence.
GIRL HE LIKES
Your from... English aren’t you?
BRYAN
Yea, with Mr Scott... right?
GIRL HE LIKES
Yep period 5
Bryan and the girl both chuckle together. Not sure if he
should confess his feelings or continue the conversation he
continues the conversation trying to avoid another awkward
silence.
BRYAN
So you all studying the same thing?
PERSON 1
Yea pretty much accept PERSON 3

8. Taking the drink he slips away in to the hallway.
INT.APARTMENT HALLWAY.NIGHT
He walks down the hallway running into his friend again. The
same one from the bedroom. He wants to tell him how he’s
breaking his comfort zone but at the same time he hasn’t yet
asked her the question.
BRYAN
I...It’s not easy
FRIEND
Nobody said it would be. You need
to put yourself out there.
BRYAN
I...I’m trying... What do I say?
FRIEND
To who...? Her...? I can’t tell you
what to say or do the work for you.
You like her don’t you?
BRYAN
Y..Yea I do.
FRIEND
(Laughing/chuckling)
Then instead of wasting time
talking to me go and talk to her
yourself.
Bryan takes a big gulp from his cup before going back into
the kitchen. He knows his friend’s right, he’s got to say it.
INT.APARTMENT KITCHEN.NIGHT
Looking over Bryan notices that she’s moved to the living
room, siting on the sofa with the same group of friends.
She’s smiling, laughing. He smiles back, she doesn’t notice.
Deciding to walk over he knows what he has to do.
BRYAN
(Confused)
I... never caught your name.
GIRL HE LIKES
It’s GIRL HE LIKES.
