A group of nearly 100 students, faculty, staff, and community members at Marquette University staged a silent protest, linking arms along a road on campus. They were demonstrating in solidarity with students of color at the University of Missouri and across the country. The protest was organized in response to racial tensions at Mizzou that led to the university president's resignation. At the Marquette protest, many wore black tape over their mouths as a symbol of feeling unheard. University leaders expressed support for bringing awareness to issues of race and making the campus more inclusive.
