Marie Antoinette was born in Vienna in 1755 and became the Queen of France in 1770 when she married King Louis XVI. As queen, France grew poorer due to wars and spending, causing public discontent. She had little initial political influence but grew to take on more responsibility. Marie Antoinette died by guillotine during the French Revolution in 1792 at the age of 37.
