Marie Antoinette was born in Austria in 1755, the daughter of Francis I and Maria Theresa of Austria. She became famous as the Queen of France after marrying Louis XVI of France in 1770. As Queen, Marie Antoinette helped provoke the French Revolution and was publicly executed by guillotine in Paris in 1793. She remains an important historical figure known for her role as Archduchess of Austria, Dauphine of France, and Queen of France.
