THE  PROJECT  IDEA  &  APPROACH	
v  Marg’s plan is to install, execute and commission a Utility scale PV Solar power
plant in Karnataka on the basis of Open Access policy. Size can be anywhere
between 50-100 MW.
v  Consumers of Power on 3rd party PPA – Commercial consumers, Industrial HT
users etc.
v  Available land bank – 500 Acres.
v  To be developed as a solar park for Open access consumers.
v  Marg to facilitate the process of getting 3rd party PPA’s signed between
Developers and consumers.

ü  Identify Potential consumers in Karnataka.
ü  Invite potential developers/investors.
ü  Land bank has been already identified.
ü  Executing All Statutory and regulatory approvals.

•  More than 500 Acres of land with clear titles.
•  The Solar Park is proposed to be located in Village – Muragod, Taluk – Saundatti, Dist – Belgaum.
•  Nearest Town – Soundatti (5 Kms), Nearest NH – NH 4 (10 Kms), Nearest Railway Station – Belgaum (12 Kms).
•  Average DNI – 5.31.
•  Nearest Sub Station – Saundatti Station (110/33/11 KV). Distance – 6 Kms.
•  Land Acquisition options: Complete buyout/ Lease of 30 years / Joint Development.
Statutory,  Regulatory  Approvals  and  fees	
•  Application to the Nodal Agency for 3rd party sale of power.
•  Approval from Nodal Agency.
•  Approval from the SLDC for power evacuation  injection.
•  Fees:
o  Application fees per Project – Rs. 10,000.
o  Facilitation fee per MW – Rs. 25,000.
o  Performance Gaurantee/Bid security per MW – Rs. 5,00,000.
o  * Net worth to be shown per MW– Rs. 2,00,00,000.
o  Other incidental fees/charges – Rs. 20,000 / MW.
TERMS  &  CONDITIONS  –  SOLAR  POWER  OFFER  TO  CONSUMERS	
u  PPA Tariff rate Rs. 5.80 - Rs. 6.50. (Subject to the category of consumer).
u  Period of PPA – 20 Years with lock in period of 15 years.
u  PPA’s to be protected against a payment security mechanism.
u  Supply under long term Open Access.
u  Billing point will be Ex Bus solar plant.
u  Consumer needs to bear charges like open access charges, SLDC Charges,
Application fee etc.
u  Open access to be taken by solar developer.
u  Commencement of power within 12 months from PPA execution.
u  Termination of PPA by either party within lock-in period to invite termination
penalty equal to 12 months of revenue from the project and any damages
awarded under arbitration.
u  The Ex Bus price of power to be escalated accordingly as per DISCOM/KEB
Escalation. This will include dedicated transmission losses.
u  This offer can be improved and customized to cater to further cater to your
needs.
u  We are looking at a win-win proposition.

Total  Project  Cost  and  Financial  Ratios	
•  Model 1 (Developer Centric).
Ø  Total Project Cost (100 MW) : INR 550 Cr.
Ø  Tariff = INR. 5.50
Ø  Total revenue per annum = INR. 90.75 Cr.
Ø  Payback Period = 5 years.
Ø  Equity IRR = 22.6%
Ø  Project IRR = 18.5%
** In this model Marg executes the project. The investor is also the developer and signs the 3rd party PPAs.
•  Model 2 (Joint participation based on share holding – XYZ Company jointly).
Ø  Initial seed capital to develop the project = Rs. 25-50 Cr.
Ø  The XYZ company develops the Solar park and sells it to developers. The PPA is signed between the
consumers and developers.
Ø  Operations and maintenance in the scope of XYZ company.
Ø  Per annum Revenue from selling the SP in 2 phases = 300 Cr.
Ø  O & M Revenues per annum = INR 10 Cr.
SCOPE  -­‐‑MARG	
²  Identify potential consumers and facilitating the whole process of
executing the PPA’s between developers and consumers.
²  Land procurement / leasing.
²  Execution of all statutory and regulatory approvals.
²  Design , Install , Commission , Supply , Operate and Maintain the
ground mounted utility scale solar park. (Development of land, EPC &
Plant O&M).
²  Laisoning work of OA solar power consumer
²  Intimation and approvals from all concerned departments and DISCOM.
²  Supply and Installation of ABT Meter and CT/PT.
²  Monthly bill settlement with state DISCOM.

  • 14. TERMS  &  CONDITIONS  –  SOLAR  POWER  OFFER  TO  CONSUMERS u  PPA Tariff rate Rs. 5.80 - Rs. 6.50. (Subject to the category of consumer). u  Period of PPA – 20 Years with lock in period of 15 years. u  PPA’s to be protected against a payment security mechanism. u  Supply under long term Open Access. u  Billing point will be Ex Bus solar plant. u  Consumer needs to bear charges like open access charges, SLDC Charges, Application fee etc. u  Open access to be taken by solar developer. u  Commencement of power within 12 months from PPA execution. u  Termination of PPA by either party within lock-in period to invite termination penalty equal to 12 months of revenue from the project and any damages awarded under arbitration. u  The Ex Bus price of power to be escalated accordingly as per DISCOM/KEB Escalation. The investor is also the developer and signs the 3rd party PPAs. •  Model 2 (Joint participation based on share holding – XYZ Company jointly). Ø  Initial seed capital to develop the project = Rs. 25-50 Cr. Ø  The XYZ company develops the Solar park and sells it to developers. The PPA is signed between the consumers and developers. Ø  Operations and maintenance in the scope of XYZ company. Ø  Per annum Revenue from selling the SP in 2 phases = 300 Cr. Ø  O & M Revenues per annum = INR 10 Cr.
