The MuseumNext 2014 International Conference, Newcastle UK. Presentation title: “Co-evolution of problems/solutions in Digital Media Design for Museums.”
The metropolitan museum of art. virtual tourIrina Korkina
This presentation can be used at the English language lessons at school. It introduces one of the largest museums in the world and different painting styles
Google Glass at the MIT Museum: a Visitor Experience StudyMarco Mason
The adoption of Google Glass within museums is in its infancy. How can it facilitate visitor engagement? What are the limitations? What are the opportunities? In a partnership sponsored by the Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program at the MIT, the MIT Museum collaborated with a Media Lab student to realize and test a Glassware prototype. Both the design issues and the visitor feedback offer the opportunity to reflect on the design of a new kind of museum experience.

Museums and the Web at the Cleveland Museum of ArtRita Troyer
In September of 2013, Museums and the Web hosted a "Deep Dive" workshop at the Cleveland Museum of Art's Gallery One. The two day workshop was a focused presentation on a single groundbreaking project in the museum technology field. This is my presentation for the Indianapolis Museum of Art Research Forum.

This class was the second lecture in the Design Thinking course as part of the Service innovation design program in Laurea University of Applied Sciences in Lepavaara, Finland. 2011.
Interaction and User Experience Design Professors Michael Gibson and Troy Abel of the University of North Texas’ Department of Design used this slide deck to make their case at IXDA 2019—based on more than 15 years of curriculum planning and in-design-classroom experience—for operating pedagogic approaches at both the graduate and undergraduate levels that marry theoretical approaches with practical methods.
Research communication, publishing and knowledge sharing are hampered by slow, out of date technologies based on print workflows. It's time for a new ecosystem of interoperable open source technologies and tools to transform how our most important knowledge is created, produced and shared. The Collaborative Knowledge Foundation (coko.foundation) is leading an open source revolution.
Digital Storytelling as a Community Informatics ApproachXarahC
A presentation delivered at the Story Activism DS9 Festival in Cardiff, April 2015, based on my PhD of the same title.
This presentation shows the 5 Phase CDST Method developed for Community Digital Storytelling in the context of a Community Informatics inspired intervention to encourage informal learning and activism around rural issues.
Designing in Post-Digital Museums: Emerging Design PracticesMarco Mason
Design is entering into museum practices driven by Human-Centered Design approaches, such as Design Thinking and Service Design, which are increasingly being considered driving forces for innovation and as a “strategic resource” to advance existing practices. This is changing internal social interactions and structures, introducing new tools, re-configuring workplaces, and affecting organisations’ working practices.
The aim of my presentation is to reflect on these novels design practices as one of the cutting edges of the innovative trends in digital cultural heritage institutions.

Researching Digital Cultural Heritage - International Conference
https://digitalheritageresearch.wordpress.com
The presentation (and the following paper in a Special issue, peer-review journal) discussed the early findings of the process of introducing design thinking within an organization. The case study presented was the Fitzwilliam Museum Family Guide project. We intend our theoretical perspective to stimulate critical reflections on, and to advance methodologies for researching advanced design practice for cultural heritage in the digital realm.

Marco Mason is holding a Ph.D in Design Sciences which he obtained after conducting an extensive research about the design of mobile-based visitor experience for museums. The results of his research are summed up and discussed in his thesis “Designing Mobile Visitor Experience – Shifting the Focus from the Technology to the Visitor”.
