Upon arrival at Camp O'Donnell, another 2,200 Americans and 27,000 Filipinos died from dehydration, disease, beatings and executions. The Bataan Death March was one of the most brutal events of World War II.

General Douglas MacArthur returned to the Philippines in 1944 and began liberating the country from Japanese forces, declaring full liberation on July 4, 1945 after intense fighting.
Bataan Death March
