An Empirical Study of the Geospatial Availability of Hospitals in Imo East us...ijtsrd
The accessibility of hospital facilities contributes to social stability and the protection of the fundamental human right to health care. This study aimed to examine the geographical distribution of hospital care facilities and their attribute information in the nine Local Government Areas LGA of the Imo East District by developing a database and producing a visual map of these facilities. The facilities investigated were divided into different groups by type, ownership, and operational state. The attribute data that makes up the database was obtained through questionnaires distributed to facility management. Geospatial data was collected using a handheld Global Positioning System GPS . The maps received from the government agencies integrated with the ArcGIS environment were used for the visual mapping of the facilities. Statistical Package for the Social Sciences SPSS was used to analyze the data. The results suggest that there are 837 health facilities, with Ahiazu and Ezinihitte having the fewest 8.1 and 8.5 , respectively , and Ngor Okpala having the most sparsely distributed. The areas with the most facilities are Aboh and Ikeduru, with 13.3 and 13.0 , respectively. The ownership of private and public facilities was 59.3 and 40.7 , respectively. The facilities are not evenly dispersed, and their standards vary substantially. The database created would surely aid in management, planning, and encouraging new avenues in health administration. The visual map produced illustrates the locations of health institutions, and road connectivity by type, and is an essential source of health information. The visual map available to the public can increase the number of patients who travel to the proper hospitals and prevent patients from seeking health treatment in the wrong place. As a result, the findings of this study may aid in the administration of health facilities and future planning. Umunnakwe George E. | Obasi Ibe B. Geospatial Mapping of Health Facilities in Nangere Local Government Area of Y...ijtsrd
This paper is aimed at mapping healthcare facilities in the Nangere Local Government Area of Yobe State. Geospatial mapping of health care facilities was achieved by taking the geographic coordinates of all the healthcare facilities in the Local Government using the Global Positioning System Garmin GPS map 76CS receiver. The data were analyzed using ArcGIS 10.8 version software. The study identified primary and secondary health care facilities without any tertiary health care facility and also without a single private hospital or clinic across the entire eleven 11 political wards of Nangere Local Government Area. The findings revealed that 46 healthcare facilities were distributed across the eleven 11 political wards in the Local Government Area. The primary health care facilities PHC constituted 98 45 while the secondary Health Care facilities SHC constituted 2 1 . The average nearest neighbor summary for the study area shows the significant level and the critical level that indicates a random distribution pattern of health care facilities in the area, however, it was unevenly distributed given the concentration of health care facilities in Dazigau, Degubi, Darin, Pakarau, and Tikau while other wards were inadequately served. However, both the primary and secondary health care facilities were government owned, the study concluded that there were inequalities in the spatial distribution of health care facilities in the Nangere Local Government Area of Yobe state, thus this disparity in the distribution of health facilities has generated different accessibility level to health care facilities in the LGA, it, therefore, recommends that Government and the private organization should provide health care facilities in the wards that do not have enough health care facilities. This will further improve access to Health Care facilities in the study area. The study is about the availability and utilization of health informatics systems among health Workers in Niger State, Nigeria. In this study, the channel model was used to describe how the information is flow in the health sectors. The study adopts quantitative approaches to investigate the availability and utility of health informatics among health workers in Niger state, Nigeria. The population of the study comprised all the health workers working in public health hospitals and clinics in Niger State totalling about 3,599 health workers out of which 400 were sampled using appropriate sample size determination. The returned rate of 320 instruments was used for the analysis. The study revealed that the health informatics system was not available and as such the utilisation was relatively very low in Niger state. The study recommends among others that there is a need for the Nigerian government and health managers to make use of health informatics to improve the delivery of the healthcare system. Telehealth in India: The Apollo contribution and an overview Apollo Hospitals
The universal phenomenon of urban rural health divide is particularly striking in India. We have centres of medical excellence in the metros, better than the best. However 700 million Indians, have no direct access to secondary and tertiary care as 80% of India's specialists, primarily cater to 20% of the population. Additional brick and mortar hospitals is not a viable solution, as there is an acute shortage of both funds and health care personnel. In 1999, the author among others, foresaw that it could be possible, to extend the reach of urban doctors to suburban and rural India, virtually. This article traces the author's personal experience in introducing and developing telehealth in India over the last 14 years. Simple video conferencing, has given way to eHome Visits, providing international teleconsults,13,14 tele CME programmes, deployment of internet enabled peripheral medical devices, promoting Health Literacy through eEmpowerment,18,19 multi centre Grand rounds and, virtual visits to the ICU.20–22 With 894 million mobile phones mHealth is certainly the future.23 The Pan African, SAARC, ASEAN and the Central Asia e Network projects13,14,24–29 initiated by the Govt. of India has resulted in India's health expertise, being made available to many countries virtually. With exponential growth in Information and Communication Technology (ICT), a rural tele-density of 43%,23 India may eventually show the way to achieve quality, affordable, accessible health care to everyone, anytime, anywhere making distance meaningless and Geography History, by deploying telemedicine.

Cadastral information system is an organized system that records land information, holdings and describe the spatial and non-spatial entities of parcels and land information. It has the ability to record, store, update and retrieve at will when necessary, all land related information. This study makes use of the spatial information of the perimeter, the designed layout and parcel spatial and non-spatial data to implement the system. The perimeter survey was carried out using KOLIDA 445R Total Station and plotted using AutoCAD land Development 2009, the designed layout was scanned and digitized in ARCGIS 10.1 for automation process. The parcel information, data analysis, query optimization and implementation were designed and store in ARCGIS. The system was tested and suitable in solving the challenges of demolition of built structures due to non-conformity of built structure with the standard set by the building regulating agency and the issues of fake lack documents by land racketeers. The information of all parcels including the prototype of buildings categories are specified and store in the database.

Data Centers - Striving Within A Narrow Range - Research Report - MCG - May 2...pchutichetpong
M Capital Group (“MCG”) expects to see demand and the changing evolution of supply, facilitated through institutional investment rotation out of offices and into work from home (“WFH”), while the ever-expanding need for data storage as global internet usage expands, with experts predicting 5.3 billion users by 2023. These market factors will be underpinned by technological changes, such as progressing cloud services and edge sites, allowing the industry to see strong expected annual growth of 13% over the next 4 years.
Whilst competitive headwinds remain, represented through the recent second bankruptcy filing of Sungard, which blames “COVID-19 and other macroeconomic trends including delayed customer spending decisions, insourcing and reductions in IT spending, energy inflation and reduction in demand for certain services”, the industry has seen key adjustments, where MCG believes that engineering cost management and technological innovation will be paramount to success.
MCG reports that the more favorable market conditions expected over the next few years, helped by the winding down of pandemic restrictions and a hybrid working environment will be driving market momentum forward. The continuous injection of capital by alternative investment firms, as well as the growing infrastructural investment from cloud service providers and social media companies, whose revenues are expected to grow over 3.6x larger by value in 2026, will likely help propel center provision and innovation. These factors paint a promising picture for the industry players that offset rising input costs and adapt to new technologies.
According to M Capital Group: “Specifically, the long-term cost-saving opportunities available from the rise of remote managing will likely aid value growth for the industry. Through margin optimization and further availability of capital for reinvestment, strong players will maintain their competitive foothold, while weaker players exit the market to balance supply and demand.”
2. The Aim is Mapping and Creation of
Geodatabase of Healthcare Facilities in Ibadan
North Local Government Area.
3. Acquire a base map of the study area from
Open Street Map (OSM).
Identify all existing health care facilities in the
study area.
Acquire locational and attribute data of all
the health care facilities.
Create a Geospatial database using QGIS
Perform Spatial analysis ( Buffering, Query
Generation, Overlay Operations. Produce
maps in view of the spatial analysis.
4. Ibadan North is a Local Government Area in
Oyo State, Nigeria. Its headquarters is at
Bodija district of Ibadan. It is bordered by
Akinyele, Lagelu, Egbeda, Ibadan North-West
and Ibadan Nprth-East LGAs. Ibadan North
covers a total area of 22 square kilometres.
5.
6. MAPPING is the representation of a selection of
real features on the Earth. It allows the map
maker record relationships between features and
to allow these relationships to be analysed.
GEODATABASES are an organized way to keep
similar data together. Anything that is relevant
stays in a single database. A Geodatabase is a
database designed to store, query, and
manipulate geographic information and spatial
data. It is also known as a spatial database.
7. Health Care is the maintenance or
improvement of health via the prevention,
diagnosis, treatment or cure of disease,
illness, injury and any other physical and
mental impairments in people.
Health care is delivered by health
professionals and allied health fields.
[Wikipedia]
8. •A computer system
•A QGIS software
•Open Street Map
•Internet (hfr.health.gov.ng)
•Microsoft Excel
9. Open Street Map is one of the plugins in
QGIS, it was used as the base map for this
project.
The data about the Health Facilities were
obtained from the website of the Federal
Ministry of Health (hfr.health.gov.ng). The
location data obtained were pasted into
Microsoft Excel and were saved with .csv file
extension.
10. The excel file was imported into QGIS as a
point feature with the open Street map
serving as the base map.
Below is a screenshot of the points after
importing the points.
11. The excel file was exported into ESRI
shapefile and the shapefile was symbolised
using conventional signs and symbols in
other to allow further editting to be made.
12. The final map produced from the above
process was made using QGIS map composer.
There is a total of 33 healthcare facilities in
Ibadan North Local Government Area. All the
facilities are still in operation.Below is the
final map and the data obtained from the
Federal Ministry of Health website.
14. Tabularized data of information gotten from the
Federal ministry of Health (hfr.health.gov.ng)
15. Further analysis were made like;
Categorizing the healthcare facilities based
on ownership.
Categorizing the healthcare facilities based
on their levels of operation.
Carrying out a 200m buffer.
Carrying out a 500m buffer.
16.
17. From the above map, it can be seen that two
(2) out of the health care facilities belongs to
the Federal Government, ten (10) belongs to
the Local Government, eighteen (18)
healthcare facilities are privately owned by
some individuals, one (1) belongs to the
public while two (2) belongs to the State
Government. Every of the above information
were gotten from the website of the Federal
Ministry of Health.
18.
19. From the map above it can be seen that there
are three levels of operation in Ibadan North
LGA. The healthcare facilities in Red (14 in
total) are in the primary level, The healthcare
facilities in Blue (18) in total are in secondary
level while the health care facility in colour
black (1) is in the tertiary level of operation.
20. 200m buffer was made from each of the points
It was discovered that
about 200 buildings
were within the buffer
radius, the Redeemer
Hospital was chosen at
random to complete
this analysis. Which me
-ans People around that
Area only need to work
21. a distance of 200m.
A zoomed in screenshot of the buildings within
the buffer is shown below;
23. It was discovered that about 900 buildings were within the
buffer radius, the Redeemer Hospital was also used to
complete this analysis. Which means People around that area
only need to work a short distance before getting to their
destination.
24. Health care facilities are well distributed
around the study area. People can easily
access the facilities in case of emergency.
Its evident that Geospatial Information
System is a tool that’s capable of analyzing
healthcare facilities in the study area, hence
informed decisions are made from the result
of the analysis.
25. The space needs to be designed, organized
and maintained to allow for privacy and
facilitate the provision of quality services.
Facilities also need to have adequate stocks
of medicines, supplies, equipment, and
experienced health workers.
Healthcare facilities should have available
equipped transport services that operate 24
hours a day, 7 days a week.
26. Abdulganiy Ola Shittu became a registered Surveyor with
the Surveyors Council of Nigeria in 2016.He hold a
