The Navy Dental Corps was established in 1912 to provide dental care for active duty Navy and Marine Corps personnel and promote their dental health. It aims to ensure dental readiness and is led by the Chief of the Navy Dental Corps. Force Dental Battalions were established to command dental companies providing mobile dental services to Marines. They are composed of dental officers, other staff, and dental corpsmen. The presentation discusses operational dental readiness goals of 95% for active and reserve personnel, who must have annual dental exams, and will not deploy with class 3 or 4 dental classifications.
