4. Numeral-measure words as attributives
1. wǒ yǒu yì běn shū
2. wǒ yǒu yí gè jiějie.
In modern chinese a numeral alone is not
used to qualify a noun and a measure word has
to be used in between(ex.1,2).most nouns have
their specific measure words(ex.1). 个( ge )
is the commonest measure word and can be used
with most nouns.
5. The tones of 一( yī )
When 一 stands alone, it is pronounced in
the first tone, when it precedes a syllable of
the first, second or third tone ,it is
pronounced in the fourth tone. it is
pronounced in the second tone,when it is
followed by a fourth tone
11. Adverbial of time
1.wǒ měitiān qù túshūguǎn.
2.nǐ jīntiān qù yīyuàn ma ?
3.míngtiān nǐ yǒu hànyǔ kè ma?
When time words like měitiān
,jīntiān,míngtiān,xiànzài and so on are used as
adverbials, they generally come before the main
element of the predicate (ex.1,2).they may also
be put before the subject at the beginning of a
sentence(ex.3)
12. Asking and telling someone’s occupation
nǐ zuò shénme gōngzuò?
你做什么工作?
wǒ shì gōngsī de zhíyuán.
我是公司的职员。
