This document summarizes a literature review on the in vitro and in vivo evidence for using homeopathic medicines to treat or prevent malaria. Three studies were identified as relevant: 1) An in vitro study by Rajan and Bagai that explored the effects of homeopathic remedies on malaria parasites in culture. 2) An in vivo animal study by Bagai, Rajan, and Kaur. 3) An observational study by the State Health Resource Centre in India that distributed a homeopathic remedy to nearly 100,000 people to prevent malaria. While the findings were promising, the review concludes that further research is needed, particularly studies with improved methodological rigor, to determine if homeopathy can effectively treat or prevent malaria.
