This document discusses the Make-I category of government funded defense projects in India. Make-I provides up to 70% funding by the Ministry of Defense for prototype development costs, up to 250 crores per project. Funding is released in phases based on project progress. Eligible participants must be Indian vendors as defined in procurement policies. Funded projects will result in future procurement through the Buy (Indian) category. The process involves feasibility studies, requirements development, requests for information, selection of development agencies, prototype development, testing and contract negotiation.
